SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

Correct.  A marginal player who you would have to seek a waiver for anyway.

REALLY HARD pass.

That's another thing that makes this pick-up a little less attractive as well, you never know with the NCAA, we were told Nyiwe was likely to get waiver to be immediately eligible at the mid-term and it never happened.  Rasheem Dunn was suppose to get a waiver to be immediately eligible a couple years ago and he got denied and had to miss a few games before he got his waiver as well.  It's worth the risk to the other 3 mid-majors on his list, but IMO it's not really worth it for St.John's.  We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Heard this too which is the correct position for SJU.

Estrada will not be picking St. John’s.

I think when players graduate in May we’ll see more transfers available.

Thanks Paultz. Unreal. Truly a 'brave new world'.

This would be my move. No point in possibly making myself persona non grata. I'll keep using my current school's facilities, especially if I am at a football school with fancy ones, and make a clean break once I graduate.

DeMeo followed

Milwaukee senior guard Te’Jon Lucas (14.9 ppg, 5.8 apg, 4.6 rpg) has entered the transfer portal, he told @Stadium.

Would need waiver, FWIW - was at Illinois previously

It looks like he sat out a year in between.

Don't think it matters.  Free transfer rule only applies to players who haven't previously transferred from another D1 school (whether they sat our or not).  Maybe that will change at some point.

This would be his 6th year of college ball, so he likely graduated already. Think that makes him eligible.

brought this up previously in the case of a graduating seniors, but others have provided links that are seem to imply otherwise (although I still don't think the links that were provided specifically states they would need a waiver).

Graduate rule is gone. Also the one time transfer immediate eligibility only applies on your first transfer regardless of whether you got a waiver for a previous transfer.

Anyone hear what our chances might be with Kidtrell blocker

i don’t think we were seriously looking at him.  He committed to Georgia State.

He decommited from Georgia State. He has his own thread in recruiting where this discussion belongs.
