SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

JUCO Deng Dut has excellent numbers in two things we need from the combo guard - as MP pointed out 51.3% from three plus he had an assist to turnover ratio of 2.3. Definitely looks interesting, of course there's always question of upgrade of competition he'd face with us.

but wouldn't surprise me if he was right, staff seems to be all in on a combo guard, Soares is more of a wing.

FWIW Soares himself talked about SJU and DeMeo recruiting him.
Despite article, per Johnnies Pride tweet SJU is not actively recruiting him. Trust my guy Pride on this.

But only averaged 8 ppg in Juco

Unless there is another Chris Mullin that just wants to stay home

Unfortunately, the kid you described today is just as likely to go to Seton Hall, Rutgers or perhaps UConn.  I don’t think Chris Mullin chooses SJU in 2021.

Funny note, and Boo will love it. On one of his tapes it shows a screen grab of the top Juco players in pick and roll situations from 2 seasons ago. Vince Cole is #1 on the list..

Boo, looks to me like he averaged 14.8 ppg. Also, for the combo guard if he can hit open threes and run the show when Posh sits that  would be a big plus imho. Not saying this kid is the right add, but those two stats stuck out at me.

Somebody didn't click the link I provided /media/kunena/emoticons/tongue.png. He averaged 14.8 PPG not 8 PPG.  If you just search his name on google it brings up his freshman year stats, not his most recent sophomore year stats, you have to go to his team's page on the juco site to get them for some reason.

Probably was recruiting him before the Mathis addition, they were looking at several SG/Wing players to fill that role, once they got the Mathis commitment I'm assuming they cooled on him.  And we should be good at that spot with Mathis and Wusu.  They need another ball handler/combo guard now and my guess is whoever that is will be the final piece, unless there's an absolute stud that falls into their hands after guys start dropping out of the draft.

I agree. I was hoping it wasn’t JC insurance.

Got it, thanks for the clarification.
