SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

LOL!!!!  I am glad you feel this way.  Nobody said he was not a stand up guy.  But unfortunately your feelings are not facts.

CMA appears to me to be of the highest ethical standards and of the highest character and integrity. There is no chance he is going to suggest a kid who just agreed to play for him move on to another school, because something better came along. He clearly doesn't operate this way, and you can say it's almost to a fault or detriment, but that's just who CMA is. I'm not upset one bit about it personally.

Do you have some facts to present here that we are not aware of?

This is an interesting conversation. Is there any evidence that Cisse wants to come to St. John's?

FYI, Coastal Carolina transfer DeVante’ Jones tells ESPN he plans to announce his decision on Saturday per Jeff Borzello

Deadine, seriously?  It is a 7 day a week, 24 hour/day, 365 days a year system....

May 2nd is the deadline to enter the transfer portal in order for fall and winter athletes who are underclassmen to be eligible to play immediately in 2021/22 fall and winter sport seasons as first time transfers.  A graduating senior (spring or summer) with eligibility left is automatically eligible if he transfers so if Alvarado is graduating, he has plenty of time to enter the portal up to when the school he intends transfers to (if he does decide to transfer) stops admitting new students for the fall semester.

Yes I think you are right that Alvarado is a grad senior so that most pertinent date to his present situation is July 7 which is the NCAA early entry withdrawal deadline to maintain eligibility.  If you want to go back to school you have to pull out of the draft by this date.  This is different from the NBA draft withdrawal deadline of July 19.  Someone who isn't returning/attending school (like a Euro) who feels like they need another year overseas or in the G League to improve their stock can withdraw by July 19 and then reenter the draft in 2022.

I did not know of the July 7th date, I was under the impression that July 19th was the only deadline concerning the NBA.  Thanks.

Alvarado doesn’t understand or , maybe he does that Redmen.com doesn’t want to wait for deadlines for this or that .   We have been on a decades long wait for a return to Contending BE Basketball .  He would likely be a valuable ingredient in getting to that plateau next season .So , while we totally understand his need to evaluate all his options , we hope those options include us .  Soon .  Him playing another Season in NY would get him wider exposure to playing elsewhere , unless it’s the NBA .  A big year for him in the BE might put him into 1 st round territory next year . Just saying .

So, looks like Penny gave him the boot to free up a scholarship to get his former starting PG Tyler Harris back from Iowa State.  Have you heard of any St. John's interest in him?  The 20 PPG catches the eye, however not a great shooter, so looks like he was a volume shooter.  I do really like the 2.7 SPG.
Rumor, but nothing tangible
