SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

JPM on Trey Mitchell

Skilled  scorer and aggressive rebounder Pittsburgh native who prepped at Woodstock academy. He'd fill a need for #sjubb as a finisher and board crasher with size. He'd also really compliment Posh (and Pinzon) with his running for "quick hitters" in the post

Why did this kid choose Umass out of Hs? He was top 80 and highly recruited and originally from ACC/Big 10 land.
Rasheen Davis landed him at UMass btw

I thought he might have been one of those kids that followed their prep coach to umass.
Just s/w Rasheen and I was wrong, sorry. He wears involved but prep coach you reference was  main guy attracting Mitchell

Tre Mitchell is likely a longshot considering half the schools in the country will be calling him but he's exactly what this team needs. I don't really know much about Tyson Walker but considering our backcourt needs vs frontcourt needs, Mitchell seems like the one transfer candidate mentioned so far that would help us leap into the national conversation (the Justin Champagnie stuff is fun to discuss but honestly seems like fantasy to me.)

My hope is that they can get whoever the 3rd or 4th best guy available in the Tre Mitchell mold is this off season. Don't know who that is but guys are declaring every few minutes today and they'll be some gettable guys for St. Johns. WIth our young, emerging stars there's too big an opportunity present for us to whiff on a reliable big man this time around.

I like Igheon's potential, but his injuries, lack of production over two seasons concerns me. If he's healthy and motivated he's got a high ceiling it seems in a system like mike Anderson's.  I suppose beggars can't be choosers but I think the jury is going to be out on him until he actually produces.

Reasonable concern, but may also lessen competition, unlike proven entity like Mitchell. I'll leave it to staff, but I find it hard to believe he would not be an upgrade to our weakest component. Moose cautioned me he will remember these words :)

Lost track of Igheon since he went to Louisville. Surprised Mack said he was out of shape. The kid always looked stacked in high school.

If you listen to Macks comments he claims that Aiden is a bit lazy and needs work !!

Is the type of transfer we used to get. Area kid goes away and it doesn't work out. Comes back home.

Tre Mitchell is a pipe dream but Igheon would be a very nice pickup. Hopefully he wants to come home. Hope the staff will pull out all the stops to land him. I know a certain Rat from an irrelevant school in the midwest is going to be all over him.

Dream starting line up next season. Posh, Williams, Champaigne Twins, Igheon... Will never happen, but will be extremely happy if we can get Aidan.

Over/under on when NYC centers Josh Gray (LSU) and Max Amadussen (sic - Pitt) hit the portal?

Those two plus Aiden were the guys I’ve kind of figured would give us some transfer home options. Sure we’ll be buying low but as Paultz said that might be our best bet to land one.

Big difference between looking cut up and being "in shape"... especially "basketball shape".... if what Mack says is true... not sure he would be the best option for Anderson's program

Xavier sophomore KyKy Tandy has entered the transfer portal
The last several games of the season, I noticed he was barely playing when watching Xavier play.  So, I'm guessing that's why he's departing.

Anderson would be fantastic for Aidan, just the coach he needs going forward. This would be the perfect chance for him to redeem himself in his last 2 years of college. Get him into great shape, have him surrounded by good to great talent and play before his family members from Brooklyn. I would love to see this happen.

If he is lazy, it won't work here (see Steere, Ian).  While I know he played his High School ball at Woodmere Academy, does he have family in Brooklyn (I know when we were recruiting him, his mother was in Ireland)?
