SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

I guess Walker is a good student if Stanford, Cal, and Northwestern are reaching out.

Very interesting to see Michigan State and Kansas in there.

Northeastern has become a very strong academic school so that doesn't surprise me.

Speed dial Van ! :)

Sources: UMass big man Tre Mitchell will transfer. Averaged 18.8 PPG and 7.2 RPG.

Tre Mitchell is EXACTLY the type guy we need.  Staff should go all out to grab him.  He'd complete the puzzle at center with 2 years remaining.  Big programs will be after him, but he will compete for starting spot here.

Grab a guy like Mitchell and a guy like Tyson Walker and we are competing for tops in the Big East.

Tre Mitchell looks like exactly the type of big we need; 6'9" 240, can score, block shots and even hits his foul shots. Does like to shoot threes a little though lol, but hits them at a decent clip. Sign him up!

Why did this kid choose Umass out of Hs? He was top 80 and highly recruited and originally from ACC/Big 10 land.

I am going to merge this and the bookmark this page thread since this title makes sense.

Unfortunately he's the type of big every program in America needs.

So question becomes how do we convince him to choose us over Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, Oregon, and 50 other high majors

Of course. As an aside, I believe CMA recruited him at Ark.

100%

So you do you’re best to make the obvious case that he is the missing piece to an NCAA team and BE title contender. The blue bloods will have a lot of that to offer, but do they have the 30 minutes at center as well?

Immediate playing time.
Playing with the league's top PG.
Playing with the league's top SF whose outside game will not force double teams on you.

Hard to see us landing guys in high demand when the big boys come calling.  But, I've been happy with the staff's recruiting all along and I think that they are good eyes for talent.  I think whether it is these guys or others, we will do well and get our share.  I am hopeful the upward trends in recruitiung will continue and result ultimatley in getting exactly what we need.

Rasheen Davis landed him at UMass btw

I thought he might have been one of those kids that followed their prep coach to umass.
