SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

Pickett’s shine seemed to fade a little bit as the players around him got better. He’s really talented but he needs the ball in his hands and I’m not sure he’s best in an up tempo style. He’s more of a slow it down and use ball screens guard. He’s good enough to make us better but not sure he will look at us as his best fit.

Thanks for the added colour. The kid does seem to do a little bit of everything. My concern is he has played very little against high level competition. Siena has played a very week OOC schedule the last 3 years. He did have a nice game 2 years ago against Xavier. Could be a good piece of the bench.

He actually had some legitimate nba radar stuff after his freshmen year. Don’t think he’s looking for a bench spot especially as SJU. Would guess Syracuse.

Pitt with Capel is becoming a little bit of a thorn.  First, he doesn't wanna give us Justin Champagnie now he's trying to get in on Soriano. /media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png

In all seriousness though Capel is a good guy, he recommended CMA for this job, however it's not looking good for him a Pitt right now, you have to believe it's tournament or the door for him next year, so he's going to be going all out to try to improve this roster, that makes me a little nervous because he's going to be promising any good player the world.  If Justin stays in the draft it's pretty much over for him, no way Pitt lets him stay after 4 losing seasons, his conference win percentage is 28%.  

If I'm Soriano and these are my top 2 schools, the decision is easy for me, I'm going to the program with the better PG to get me the ball, the program that's in better shape to get into the tournament, and the program that's closer to home. Hopefully Soriano thinks the same as me. /media/kunena/emoticons/tongue.png

With the sheer number of players in the Portal and the number of spots we have available and trying to replace those who left , let’s hope CMA brings in a Impact player to go with what we have returning . Which at this point is Posh and Wusu plus Wheeler and Smith and the other incoming rookies .

I know it doesn't 'mean much' but given the high major programs stampeding for face time with  Joel Soriano, it's mildly comforting you still have the guy up there as your avatar.

So long as we show we can close on one of these bigs we are trying for whether Soriano or Matos, I am good. If we can't that is a bad sign imho as our need is pretty obvious.
