Not a game changer, but a quality piece in a  position we desperately need.

For SJU, just having a big man that stays in the post IS a game-changer.

Amen! Sensing a great shot, we’ll see soon enough. All about closing but a lot of folks, including Stepinac HC, have noted how aggressive staff has been to make it happen. I’ll be the optimist on this one.

You heard it here first, folks.  Paultz says it's a lock.  /media/kunena/emoticons/tongue.png

Nothing's in 'til it's in (plagiarizing Yogi /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png). Let's hope.

Ewing could be a problem with Soriano, especially given the departure of Wahab.

The kid is certainly getting interest from some strong programs.

Yep. And I believe that will only make it more challenging for our staff to get him.

They already have a pretty good Ryan Mutombo coming in at center.

SJU offers more starter’s PT and better guards imo

Good point, a 4*., with some heft as well. Hopefully, Staff has a compelling spin that convinces Joel.

I think Soriano is a bigger piece here than he is at other schools, so hopefully that works in our favor.

I feel like we still need one more solid piece if Soriano comes, but can't figure out where. Are we bringing in a backup PG, or can Smith handle that spot when Posh is sitting? Is Smith a starter at the two? I like Pinzon and Wusu, but are we looking for a small forward? Do we move Julian there if we think it'll be easier to find a solid PF? Can Julian even play there?

A guard preferably Greg Williams....
Did Smith come to back someone up, or did he come because he was led to believe there would be an opening shortly after he committed?

Seattle U transfer Darrion Trammell (@dtrammell__) tells me that he has heard from the following: USC, Georgetown, Colorado, Iowa State, Oregon State, Washington State, St. John's, +.

Averaged 20.5 PPG this season.

Great questions. Wrt Smith, I'd guess to backup Posh and provide some firepower at 2G., and think his PT gets squeezed should GW (hopefully) return. After a legitimate Big, we've been a team in need of the timely shot...a sharpshooting Wing would be a nice addition to round out the roster.

Wrt Soriano staff needs to close on this kid.
Is this comment more about our staff's inability to close, or is it more about closing soon because more brand-name teams will get involved?

5.3 assists and 2 spg too. I'm buying my ferry ticket to Sausalito as we speak to do some pre-recruiting./media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png

LJSA-I think the perception will be bad if he chooses to go elsewhere especially Pitt. Who just got a New Heights kid Santos yesterday, same AAU as Champagnie bros.

From Calvin Murphy, Mugsy Bogues, Michael Adams, Dana Barros, Boo Harvey, Isaiah Thomas and to now Posh Alexander I have always loved the undersized Point Guard type of player. Evidently Darrion Trammell fits the mold. It seems like the competition is now very fierce for a player who was totally ignored out of High School due to his size. I watched a little video on him and would love to see him come here. Like pitching in baseball, QBs in football you can never have enough of this type of player (ultra quick, awesome handle, great court vision, terrific passer and excellent shooter) on your roster. With Jonathan McGriff gone, there is a clear spot for him and no reason that Trammell would not be a terrific addition here. He definitely fits our style of play. I am really glad to see that we reached out to him, but of course would be very surprised if it actually came to fruition that he wound up at St. John's. That all said, it would be really exciting to see him and Posh wreaking havoc against other team's backcourts.
