Only played two years and much more of a presence in the post than Toro. Frankly I liked him at Stepinac, but we’ll see if staff thinks he can help.

Proud @step_basketball alum. Wide body with a soft touch around the hoop who's a great weakside rebounder. Good screener in both ball screen and curl situations. Really fits #sjubb's puzzle by providing a center who will play well of of Posh and the other guards.

He’s that big body type we could use as a true center. Allows time to develop him and is near 7-footer alms also native nyc kid.  I’d be more than fine with that.  Can dump the ball into him.  That plus JPM thinks he’s good...;-)

Hope so. This is a name I've been waiting to enter the portal for a while now.

Unfortunately, I think our big man search would be a lot easier if we landed a good player beforehand.

big man plants himself down low and has a jump hook too.  He can only get better and looks plenty athletic enough to run in cma’s system.  He will get in even better shape.  I’d grab him in a heartbeat.

We didn't get "beaten out".  We have Posh, and so the kid wasn't coming here.  The Hall didn't get Posh -- they lost them at the 23rd hour to Anderson despite recruiting the kid for 3 years, hard.  Because they didn't have Posh, their backcourt situation wasn't great this year, and they couldn't turn a top BE player like Mamu with a deep front court into an NCAA appearance.  The kid they ended up with instead of Posh couldn't get on the court, so they had major major minutes to promise in the backcourt, which is why they landed both Richmond and Harris.  Richmond is a good get for them, but he wasn't coming here with Posh, and if they had Posh and we didn't, perhaps Richmond would have been a possibility.

I wonder if it is a coincidence Van made those two Stepinac offers just prior to Joel entering portal. Stepinac program is a tight knit group. Just thinking.
