Totally agree with Dink, guards win in the end. If Alvarado wants to stay in the college game and transfer here I will lose my mind for it. He and posh together would be amazing, switching on and off. Guards always win in the end but they have to have capable bigs that are able to at least defend other teams bigs. We don't even need a ridiculous big who scores 10-15 a game. We need a big who can bang around down low, rebound, defend, and do the dirty work, The rest of our lineup will take care of the offense. Legit need a Lamont Hamilton or Chris Obekpa rim protector type. As much as a lot of us get on Obekpa, he really helped us defensively and blocked absolutely everything without being a thick body. Would be nice to get one offensive big and one defensive to be able to kinda platoon minutes.

Furman transfer Noah Gurley announced a top eight of Auburn, Florida, Alabama, San Diego State, Duke, Tennessee, Marquette, and Miami this morning. Commitment will be in a week.

I think we have to keep expectations realistic.  Likely we will get a few more transfers along the lines we’ve gotten to date.  Good kids with talent, but not the cream of the crop of the transfer market.  Hopefully staff can coach them up and blend together a competitive team next year.

Man missing out on the Furman kid hurts.
I saw what he did last year to Wofford at Wofford and to say it was impressive is an understatement.

Didn't you post someplace else on this thread that we shouldn't be happy with guys like Gurley and the point guard because they're from lower level programs, or am I misremembering?

It's nice to dream. Competition through the roof. Just hope he doesn't opt for UCONN or Providence or another BE School. Used to root for other conference members to get top kids if we missed, but no more...sick of 9th / 10th place finishes.

This staff is very good at keeping things under the radar like the two players we've picked up so far.  Here's hoping they are closing in on some players who move the needle towards upgrades on what has walked out of the door.

Have heard some positives vibes but like all am in a wait and see mode. Hopefully we get a CMA storm clouds tweet soon.
