SJU Transfer Targets/Possibilities

Well Igheon also has great hands and can dunk.  It’s the other stuff I’m curious about but we shall see.

Josh Roberts played 25 games this year and made 29 field goals. He may have known how to catch passes, but it came out to one conversion per game.

MCN I honestly believe he will buy into the program. Posh, who you were crazy high on and were 100% correct, is a former AAU teammate and I am sure will be in his ear. His aunt and uncle in Brooklyn can only help and I hope his Coach at Woodmere LI is a fan of CMA and staff. From an optical point of view it would look great to have a former top 30 player coming home.
Lets pray this happens as Aiden could be the 1 missing piece to a serious team next year. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I am really curious as to why some on here want the staff to go after Igiehon?

If it was posted that CMA and staff were going after a transfer who played 18 college games, averaging 1.8 pts and 1.4 rebs, this board would be going crazy. What is the fascination with Igiehon, is it his high school ranking? I am not being funny, I just don't understand it.

Harpy’s guy and Loughlin grad;

Little Rock junior Markquis Nowell has entered the transfer portal, per source.

Averaged 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and six assists this season.

he obviously has the physical body that we need.  that makes him a prescence down low.  guards will have to think twice.  so that in itself makes him attractive.

as for production, if he can be on par with what Ike from Seton Hall gives, i'll take it: 22min pg / 4.8 ppg / 4.4 rbs / 2.9 blks

Definitely a fair point. For me...I don't think getting him here is a surefire solution to our big man problem but I do think it's a good opportunity to buy low on a guy who showed great potential just a couple of seasons ago. Based on Mack's comments, his freshman year he played limited minutes because he just wasn't ready. Williams and Earlington are recent examples of guys here who barely played as freshman so even though I respect Mack a ton, I don't always think a freshman not playing is a reflection of their potential. This past season he had a groin injury and then he came down with mono. Because it wasn't something that tends to be chronic with big guys like back or knees and was followed by a freak thing like mono he doesn't seem particulary injury prone to me.  And even if he wasn't ready as a freshman I think being around a program like Louisville and a coach like Mack for 2 years will better prepare him for what's expected wherever he goes. So I guess I sort of feel about him the way I would a redshirt freshman who I'm excited to see more than I do a guy who was just a bust.

Have no idea i Aiden is any good, however I had mono in college and was long distance runner and it took a long time to get over it. So wouldn't judge him on his sophomore year.

Why are we going after Igiehon? Because unlike other bigs, who have impressive stats (but little or zero connection to the NY area), signing him is doable.

I need to hurry up and publish my list of New Yorkers who might be looking for new schools because he was on it. If I wait any longer all of them will have already entered the portal.

Sterling, I get your point, but if staff chooses to perform diligence on him, should we not trust them? Many here extol staff’s ability to recognize potential. Perhaps they’ll pass, but if they pursue him I am ok with that.

I think a lot of us are at least in part being seduced by Iggy's ranking. I now tend to think he may have been ranked too high, but I for one think Anderson can draw something out of him. He definitely is built like a pro. I assume if staff thinks he can give more than Roberts, then they will attempt to bring him in.

Iggy also played in New York, so that is another reason I would welcome him.

I'll be happy, but I'd be happier if Fordham's big wants out or the big Egyptian kid from LuHi who headed South wants to come back to the Northeast.

Any chance we'd reach out to Mash's kid? I guess he has no real connection to NYC, but I would take a shot at it.

I definitely trust and respect our Staff. I also respect Chris Mack as a coach and if Igiehon was not able to perform there, I doubt whether he will do better here. I could be wrong, just like I was about Julian. If we do sign him, I hope that he has a successful career here.

My point was that many seem to believe that he is the answer to what ails us. Personally, I just don't see it. I saw him play a few times in high school and he got by on athleticism. He is not a skilled basketball player.

Caraher going back home.  Good luck to him.  I think it’s a good level.

I thought he might go for Elon since there's a law school there, but maybe he's looking at an MBA from High Point. I wish him all the luck in the world. He busted his ass to the point of being a sweaty mess in those initial CMA practices.
