SJU now 20th in AP Poll

Cronin was PO'd about a bogus foul in the last seconds that brought San Diego to the line to tie the game. Polee looked ordinary. 0-7 from three and played no "D". He could have used better coaching.

On the other hand, I kept switching to the Baylor game. Rico Gathers was a load. We really could have used him.

You all are free and clear to discuss moving up in the poll.

From my perspective, if SJU goes into selection Sunday as the 20th ranked team in the country, I would be thrilled.

Wise man Kran! Love the team & results thus far, but keeping myself grounded. Just remember if Greene did not get white hot down stretch at Cuse & they won, we would be clawing for votes. Let's not get intoxicated with our rating & just keep winning the games we should. The rest will take care of itself. Friday is one of those contests btw. Go Johnnies!

#18 Miami lost to Eastern Kentucky....and when I mean lost, I mean LOST
They got spanked 72-44 at home; I'm still wondering if the internet has the score backwards.
That will help us in the rankings.

They shot 12-41 from the field tonight. That's a slick 29%

This will be the first year in a few years that I'll hold off on planning a vacation in march. Might need to be traveling to see games instead if we keep this up

Ranked 18 monday, beat lbsu and top 15 following monday

We're already #18. #s 18 and 19 already lost this week with still two days left.
I could see us as #15 or #16 in the new rankings.

And you might might to check FS1, AZ only up 5 with 7:46 left

Right now we're ranked #20

#19 San Diego State lost this week
#18 Miami lost this week
#17 Maryland playing at Oklahoma State (potential Loss)
#16 Washington playing Oklahoma (potential Loss)
#15 Oklahoma playing Washington (potential Loss)
#14 Utah playing at UNLV (potential Loss)
#12 Ohio State playing at UNC (potential Loss)

That's pretty much how it lines up right now

I'd be thrilled if we aren't worried about IF we are going, and just WHERE.

Yeah, I know the rankings don't change until Monday.
My point is that with us winning last night, and #s18 and 19 losing already, that #18 is a lock right now. #s 15 and 16 play each other tonight, so there's a good chance that we'll move ahead of the loser. so that's #17.
#12 lost @ #24 UNC, so don't know if we'll move ahead of them.

Watching teams ahead of sju makes it more interesting.

OK is overrated and their loss to Creighton will hurt more now and their win over UCLA is looking way less impressive... Butler is their key win. If they beat WA I'll change my tune but a loss for either and we leapfrog. OHSt lost to a UNC team that has not and did not play well. We should be ranked ahead of them. #15+ is not unreasonable.

So, Cincy had a chance to knock off #19 San Diego State, yet is playing as dumb down the stretch as we've seen them play in the past. Now the game is in OT. And, Cronin is a mess on the sidelines. Staring down the refs, cursing at them, yelling at his players. He's embarrassing.

Cronin is going to be side-lined for a while with an unruptured aneurysm. Not sure how that can be treated...

Thank God it was discovered before it ruptured.

I'm cautiously optimistic. We are playing well, and have a couple of non-conference games that could give us trouble. I'm really waiting for the Big East season with anticipation. It's a promising start, given the god awful start last year. Now they don't have to climb out of a big hole, and can instead build on success game to game. Being ranked is nice, but at this point in the season a single misstep will have us bounced out. Good defense, good ball movement on offense, and knock down big shots - all signs of a tourney team. Keep it going guys.

Agree

Wouldn't be shocked to see Notre Dame and UNC go past us. We will go past San Diego State, Miami and possibly Oklahoma. Expecting our ranking to be 19 or 20 right now.
