That’s good enough for me.

Great points and analysis. Sadly, I agree with your prediction regarding Taylor and Luis.St John's absolutely has more talent and more depth than Seton Hall. The two secrets to Seton Hall's success are that Kadary Richmond makes everything happen for them and Holloway does a brilliant job of using the other (mediocre) pieces he has to full advantage (i.e. plays to their strengths, hides their weaknesses, something our staff could maybe learn from) and getting his team to play like junkyard dogs who haven't eaten in a week at all times.
It's a must-win game for St. John's. Richmond will do what he does, unless Pitino remembers that Glen Taylor is a guy who makes your team better and plays him to defend Richmond (instead of what I think he WILL do, which is deploy Luis for that which will result in him fouling out). The key is that SJU has to want the game as much as Seton Hall does (because they want EVERY game) and the ball has to move to the best matchup instead of forcing certain ones. Oh, and feed Soriano, they have nobody who can contend with him if St John's decides to focus on feeding the post.
Diminished NIL asking price perhapsLuis re-enters the transfer portal?
Luis has talent but his head is "Hero Ball". He needs to look to see if he can give someone else a better shot.Luis re-enters the transfer portal?
Hope not , losing Luis would be a major blow to the talent level of this program.Luis re-enters the transfer portal?
So by your definition does the coach make the talent or does the talent make a good coach? If the rosters of the Hall and St John’s were switched would the team results be any different? One thing very easy to miss is that playing hard, playing like ”junkyard dogs” is a TALENT, a very real one, in fact THE ONLY talent that counts if it’s not there. All the others lose their potency if not applied with max consistent effort. So the fact is SHU is infinitely more talented than the Johnnie’s, just a fact.

Absolutely - just a beautiful team to watch. This is what made the '98-'99 team so good. Yes, they were talented, which definitely helps a lot, but they all had THAT dog in 'em.

AWWWWWWW! So cute!!!These are our “dogs” this year View attachment 2116
Perhaps his hero ball is looking around and seeing that only one other guy can create his own shot and thinking that I better do something with the rock when i get it.Luis has talent but his head is "Hero Ball".
Then he may lack court vision.Perhaps his hero ball is looking around and seeing that only one other guy can create his own shot and thinking that I better do something with the rock when i get it.
