Seton Hall (UBS), Sun., Feb. 18, 5p, FS-1

And, he's a lateral transfer (from Syracuse) in his third year with the team. Players like that, who stick around, make a difference.
Talent can be found at all levels.
he plays "hero ball" because only he and Jenkins feel comfortable looking for key baskets. Brady looked like he could have been a go-to scorer for a while, but he fell back in (or out of) the rotation. With not enough spacing on the floor, Soriano often does not get the ball in good enough position to look for a key shot. And Dingle never developed into the 15-18ppg, lights-out shooter we thought he'd be. So I don't necessarily fault Luis for some of his hero ball. Besides, we do not necessarily know how much of a green light CRP is giving him to look for his shot.
You have that flipped. Nobody feels confident because two guys play hero ball and go one on one. And those two guys hate each other ironically.

3-4 guys stand around watching. No good team does that.

Actually I think that Holloway, hands down, is this year’s Big East Coach of the Year and there’s no one even close.
So far , yes he is . English has done a pretty good job with PC too. Bringing in Oduro who has turned into a excellent BE player .

And , English has done it without Hopkins , a All BE player when healthy .

He did inherit Carter though who is a POY candidate but , so is Kolek again .

Yes, but it's tough to win in the Big East, when most of your key players are taking a step up in competition.

You can some guys like that, but you need studs, and ideally, you need them to stick around for more than 1 year.

Hope not , losing Luis would be a major blow to the talent level of this program.
Can't say that until we see next year who replaces him. Maybe guys like this are the problem? Not saying he is, but it's an open question and not at all clear to me that he can't be upgraded.

Other than Kadary Richmond name one player on Seton Hall who is better than the equivalent on SJU
Again, it depends on how one defines better, their players play harder consistently, especially on the only consistent side, defense, which make them more effective, ergo “better”, unfortunately, players aren’t judged by how they would do in a skills competition; games are the only thing that counts.

I would take Dawes at SG and Dre Davis at SF/PF to start for us.... so def 3 of their dudes over 3 of our starters

Serious Q: how do you think those guys would do playing for Pitino, with Jenkins at the point vs Taylor and Ledlum playing for Holloway with Richmond at the point? Or Dingle and Luis playing for Holloway if you prefer at those spots, or any combination thereof.

I think SJU is better than SH on both ends of the court. They've had the benefit of 3 games against Georgetown/depaul versus our 1 and they haven't played at creighton or at uconn. SH's out of conference performance also wasn't impressive. I think Holloway has done a decent job this year considering his apparent NIL limitations, but this is a SH team that SJU should beat on its home court. If SJU loses, I don't think it's a lack of talent.
