Rysheed

Looks like SJU will field a real young team next year.

I think with Rysheed it just might be a matter of not wanting to be in school anymore. Whether he doesn't like school or he just wants to try to make the pros and doesn't want to delay it any further. If that is the case I think he will try and go the Sampson route and try to make the pros whether he is drafted or not. I don't think bettering his status if he stays will matter to him.

Also, you gotta think that what if you stay in college, and you get a major knee injury like that ul kid in the tournment a few years back. Forget about getting a big contract.
If you get drafted and sign a guaranteed contract, then even if you get that same knee injury, you're still getting paid since the contract is guaranteed.
These kids gotta think about things like that too.

Euro contracts are about as guaranteed as a Joey Delarosa free throw.

Which is a solid 14% :)

And the Euro currency has been going down quicker than Monica Lewinsky on Bill Clinton lately

What is going on with Rysheed's neck, flips his head back and it is only getting worse every game.

Hell, if it would help, I'd have Lavin have Sheed teach it to the whole team.

That was a ridiculous answer by Lavin. He had a misrable day yesterday, he needs to get these guys ready to play next week.

I don't understand not starting jordan. What the heck is keady there for? Shouldn't he knock some sense into lavin?

As is often the case, Lavin's answers leave you scratching your head.

It should be obvious what game the used car salesman was playing. Jordan had played very well the past few games and had upped his draft prospects. Lav wanted to "remind" the scouts that RJ was a "problem child" who is not ready by not starting him. Its the real reason he lost his starting spot to Branch earlier in the season and Lav figured he would still get the benefit of his production by his playing starter minutes while hurting his rep with scouts by creating the image that he is not ready or mature enough yet.

Would have been different if Branch had been killing it on the court but the fact that he wasn't, not then or now makes the whole thing highly suspicious.

Not starting Jordan was asinine. IF he did something that warranted not starting then IMO he should have been suspended a la Harrison; IF he did something to deserve the sit down, enough with the never ending soap opera. Since I have heard no explanation except for the insulting one referencing Banch's practice performance I will believe it was just another team-destructive Lavin "I am smarter than anyone else" attempt at playing a mind game.

I think Branch starting was because he is a senior.

I'd rather it be that Branch started because Jordan was acting up. Otherwise, the alternative was that it was one of Lavin's infamous hunches that never work ever. He needs to get out of his own way and leave the bulk of the game planning to Whitesell.

Now is not the time to be rewarding seniority. Its about winning, pure and simple.
