Rysheed Jordan

Per Zags....

The early signing period came and went without Philly Vaux Roberts guard Rysheed Jordan signing a Letter of Intent.

“Yeah, hes’ s going to sign in the spring,” his high school coach, Jamie Ross, told SNY.tv Friday.

Ross said the 6-foot-4 Jordan planned to narrow his list to five soon. In October, Jordan announced that he had cut his list to seven: Temple, St. John’s, Syracuse, Rutgers, Xavier, Alabama and UCLA.

Can't see him coming here now that Branch has enrolled and has 3 1/2 yrs of eligibility remaining

Actually he has 4 1/2 years of eligibility remaining. Just kidding (and trying to confuse) he'll only have 2 1/2 years left when he takes the court next December.

Rysheed's class of 13. His Frosh year will be Branch's Jr year. Do you think there's a lot of upper level teams he's going to be able to sign with that DON'T have a PG on their roster?
If Branch were to graduate on time, and goes to grad school, could he get some of the year he lost back?

No. He can stand on his head he doesn't get the year back. Only thing he can do is sit out this whole season and have 3 full years left instead of the 2 and a half he has if he plays when eligible to in December.

RYSHEED JORDAN, 18, has a decision to make. He is going to college 1.5 miles from home. Or 110 miles. Or 2,700 miles.

He could walk the 10 blocks or so from his home to the Temple University campus. He could drive the 2 1/2 hours to St. John's in Queens, N.Y. Or he could fly cross country to UCLA.

He could play home games at the Liacouras Center, Madison Square Garden or Pauley Pavilion.

Whatever the decision among his final three schools, the Roberts Vaux point guard, among the nation's top 25 seniors and its top five uncommitted players, knows it is a life-changer.

"He's the best multitasker I've ever seen," said his AAU coach, Kamal Yard. "He's got seven brothers and sisters between 3 and 17. He'll be at one corner waiting for the school bus. Then, he'll be helping with homework."

Rysheed said he's giving a Verbal commitment after his visit to UCLA this weekend.

The article also says that Temple has done everything under the sun to get him.

Should get interesting around here really soon.

I really hope we get this guy to commit. His style of play seems like a perfect fit for the way Lavin runs his team. I really don't see how UCLA is a viable option, they are terrible to watch. They Slow the ball down too much, which will only hinder his style of play.

I'd be shocked if he didn't pick Temple.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if he picked SJU.

Maybe, just maybe, he watched last night's game and again saw the same style of play that he saw from St. John's two years ago and he is excited about it. In Lavin we trust.
