Rysheed Jordan

It's just an assumption, but....

Ron Patterson to Syracuse probably also means Rysheed Jordan more likely to go to #stjbb, Temple or Rutgers.

If we lose this kid to Temple or Rutgers, we have a serious problem.

Yeah
Time to re-evaluate things if we do..........................

Why, maybe he sees little pt at SJU the next 2 seasons with Branch and Greene ahead of him?
Maybe he wants the ball in his hands 30 minutes a game from day 1 on campus which we can't offer.

Temple is now in the BE.
That will get their own fair share of very good Philly talent.
No shame at all if Jordan opts for Temple.

I agree. Temple is very respectable. I never take them lightly, especially for a Philly kid.

My hope is that it may be too close to home, and he might want to get away a bit. ST.J can offer the best of both worlds.

The caliber of staff at SJU should not lose a recruit to the likes of a Temple or Rutgers. They simply have more to offer for what a top recruit like Rysheed would be looking for (former NBA PG, NBA draft prospects, etc).

Lavin is more than capable of convincing a kid looking for PT that he'll have his shot.

I'm just concerned that there's only a few Top 2013 kids left and 2 of our 4 main targets (Martin and Ish) committed elsewhere without taking officials. Clearly I don't know what is going on behind the scenes. I just hope that the staff is doing all that they can to land Rysheed and Lawrence.

there werent too many left in march of last year and we did ok so I'm not going to worry about it too much

I throw Obekpa's commitment out the window because that was one of the strangest recruitments I ever heard of.
Jakarr simply wanted to be here and Lavin recruited him as much as anyone he ever recruited.
Jones was an incredible get.

It's not a matter of being worried. Just not having to recruit 8+ targets and being able to hone in on a few with how good of a recruiting staff that we have, it would be really nice to add highly ranked recruits.

I agree with you for the most part though.

You do realize that even landing 1 of the remaining two players would arguably be the highest rated player Lav has landed here? Lawrence is ranked 20 by Rivals and Rysheed is 28.

I think its clear they are doing everything. If anything the focus on 13 probably affected 14. Just as 12 affected 13. We're still playing a bit of catch up.

I read the article on ESPN. All it said that with Ron Patterson going to Syracuse, some people think Jordan will sign with SJU. And they referenced Zach's article in the NY Post.

Saw an ESPN insider rumor implying he might be leaning towards SJ yesterday.

That was the headline but the article offered nothing new. Said Jordan appeared to be leaning towards Syracuse or STJ. Writer also thought Syracuse isn't an option with Ennis and Patterson signed so the writer, without any evidence, assumed Jordan must now be leaning towards STJ. Of course you have to assume that both of the first two assumptions are correct before you can even shoot down the third one as conjecture but the headline was catchy.

How do you know? ESPN is not the NYPOST.

See, that's kind of a douchey post. How does he know? He read the article. Zach's article was cited. Most of us are ESPN insiders.

 I'm not. That's why I asked.

You didn't ask. You implied that the original poster was making stuff up. If that wasn't the case you wouldn't have put in the second sentence.

I still don't understand how people who KNOW "what a top recruit like Rysheed would be looking for" don't win the lottery more often than they do. Just a complete mystery.......

Work on your sarcasm.

Im sure a Top 30 recruit like Rysheed is looking forward to getting his college degree and joining the common working force 4 years down the line in 2017.

See how sarcastic and unfunny that was?
