Rysheed Jordan - Stay or Go?

I think Rysheed will benefit the most from the new staff. A PG benefits from plays being called and with a well run half court offense. He will get his assists up to around 5 a game with a real offensive scheme.

Word.

Couldn't care less about his ppg. I'd like to see him continue trending with those Assist/TO numbers. As the year went on, he went from like 1/1 to more like 3/1. A 5/1 ratio would be the best thing for his hopes at the next level? There will be times where I can clearly see him going OFF and taking over stretches of games though...and there will be times for that.

Whatever the deal, I'm excited this young man is returning and who would have thought that Sheed would be here for a Junior season? I hope this decision pays dividends, because on paper, such a smart call on his part. I'm sure he's dying to get the family out of the hood, so to speak...but this gamble seems like the smart play. I wish him nothing but the best.

Understand your point but until/unless Sampson and Diallo commit with the present roster Rysheed is gonna need to score.

PS, who would have thought that Sheed would be here for a Junior season? Anyone who watched him on his sophomore season.

Heard from Braziller that Rysheed is still not 100 percent on team. Mullin has not acknowledged him as of yet. He wants him to buy in if not he'll be gone.

THat means growing up and being a leader.

Have to consider Zach's "sources".

Zach has no idea what Mullin and Sheed have discussed.

Still think Sheed's true position is 2 guard. Of course he can play the point but I would much prefer he be the 2nd option at the point and be able to concentrate more on being the scoring machine that he is capable of being. Lets hope that we can land Mussini or another true PG so that Sheed's can be freed up to do what he does best.

Zachs sources in this case are Slice and Matt A. If they wanted it to be known that Rysheed was back, all it would take is a text to a reporter like Zach or Zags. They haven't done that yet,
That's why I think there may be legs to this

maybe CM and the staff in general want to have a better idea of who will be new coming in for the 15-16 season before they make commitments to any of Lavin's guys? Reason being they aren't sure the Jones' of the world are a fit. So rather than commit to Sheed and nobody else they are holding off on that. Just a guess who knows!

Zach's sources are associates of those guys.

I believe what you're saying but the whole situation seems odd to me.

Agreed that this is all strange. Have heard from sources that he hadn't been to class in many weeks. My guess (complete speculation ) is the new coaching staff wants him to get his head on straight, "play the game" before acknowledging him as a member of team.

I, for one, hope that's true. We don't need a repeat of last season, no matter how talented he is.

Judging by Twitter he's back in NYC as of today. The issue is of course that he may not have been here for weeks. If that's true could he become ineligible?

If there are legs to it I'm wondering if they think they are close to landing a PG who could be a starter. Mussini won't decide until August, so I assume it's not him because that's too long to wait.

And I don't think the staff would play head games, especially with someone who possibly wouldn't respond the right way if most of his St. John's history is an indication.

Based on all that, I think we should all overthink things and assume LoVett is eligible and on the way.

Only at SJU there's drama after a player announces he's coming back. Wouldn't feel right without any. Personally, I think this gets resolved and Sheed is here next year. He's on campus as of today.

so no classes for him in a month?

St. John's College and The College of Professional Studies, within SJU, where most of the liberal arts majors and sports management majors attend, did not have an attendance requirement when I went. If he extended his Easter break by a few days, for whatever personal reasons, then he should be able to make up any missed work just like any other student doing the same.

No big deal. I didn't go to classes for years and still graduated.
