It’s the world we live in today, instant gratification. Pitino will have a team come November. He is a one of the greatest coaches of all time . I believe he will get the program in the right direction it will take time though.
I also think keeping some of the players could have worked. Still think the culture must of been really awful for Pitino to go scorched earth.

Much different landscape now. Immediate transfer eligibility, NIL etc. Look what Kansas St and Iowa St both did in one offseason. If TJ Otzelberger and Jerome Tang did it at those two places then Pitino should be able to do it here. No more excuses , that’s why he was hired. As some have said , there are still a ton of kids in the portal and it’s still early. Am I mildly concerned, yes, but I still have to believe that Pitino puts together a tournament team for next season.
 
Thinking Jenkins may still commit here even if Posh returns.
He has a good outside game, including a decent 3-pt shot and would be a good addition, despite his mid-major roots, lol.
 
Nothing has yet occurred that would signal a multiyear rebuild.
IF this were November and we had a roster short of talent and depth then, yes, the sky would've fallen and we'd be eating regret 3x / day.
But I highly doubt that will come close to anything but a dark fantasy never to happen.
Rick Pitino is our coach, not Norm Roberts.

If this were November? I'll say if this were June 1. The optics to date are not impressive but it is still early. Do I think things were really so bad that he needed to jettison the entire team without any idea of replacements? No Do I think he'll get replacements? Yes Do I think he'll get the same quality of a roster he had at KY and LVille? No Do I think by 24/25 he'll have a roster greater than or equal to anything Anderson put on the floor, and do more with that roster? Yes Do I sometimes suffer from SJPTSD as I read this board? Yes. Can I convince myself to laugh it off? Kinda

Did you think Anderson’s rosters were that bad? I thought they didn’t match what he wanted to do or possibly he didn’t know what he wanted to do.
Pitino gets both of the last 2 rosters into the tournament IMO
Which is why the blowing up of the roster was so surprising to me.

Am I sure that Pitino would have had the last two year's teams in the tourney? Yes
