Rick’s Targets

Who on Bishop Gorman is st.John’s pursuing ?
I have no idea if there is anyone. But if you are going to invite the local high schools, you cannot pick and chose.

This is a wonderful gesture. It is paving miles of good will for schools that consistently produce high end talent.

But, imagine the kids who will never get to play D1 ball (or any college basketball), going through a practice with a hall of fame coach is an experience that will last a lifetime.

Bravo to the staff, they get it. Now SJU finally got it. An investment that will produce major rewards.

Kranmars …. A prior post on the previous page indicated that StJohn’s had a coach in Vegas to watch Bishop Gorman play which is separate and apart from St. John’s inviting teams to watch its practice. Bishop Gorman is a powerhouse program so it would be interesting to know who they are pursuing.

Sorry Otis, dumb on my part. I thought you were replying to the post regarding Pitino inviting all of the local high schools to a practice.

Kranmars to add, the schools (teams) were invited to watch practice not go through a practice which ( or participate in a practice) if that was what you were inferring.

I don’t know how many HS programs were there but Campus Magnet (their coaches were wearing their school hoodies) and Richmond Hill (I know and spoke to their coach who is a St. John’s graduate) and I believe Cardozo was (I saw Ron Naclerio earlier at the Alumni Mass).
Also, while I didn’t see him, I was told Tim Cluess was there and was told he is doing much better.

Wasn't there something recent about Cardozo eliminating sports and Naclerio coaching somewhere else?

Is Sutton still the coach at Richmond Hill?

He was one of my teachers and i remember he was just starting to get into coaching back then.

This was back in the early 90s.

Yes Brian Sutton is still the coach at Richmond Hill.

Our coach was in Vegas watching a tournament that was being played at Bishop Gorman HS.
