Rick’s Targets

This would be incredibly disappointing and give you some pause, but it’s still early for roster construction in this new era of college hoops.

Better comparison would be Traore or Keita.
Guy last coach didn’t realize was good.
Maybe Traore will be Hardy and Keita will be Brownlee.
Kid was already good this past year with lights out numbers and a tourney game under his belt. He will be a handful for other teams on the court this year for us. Plus you can’t foul him because he’s lights out. Let’s just get him signed first and then enjoy our signing.

That is why said Clayton and Hardy not a good comparison. Plus he is now supposedly going to Florida instead.

Excited that we are maybe getting Clayton… but this take made me laugh. Let’s pump the brakes here. That’s pretty wild expectations to put on a guy

Doesn't seem wild to me. Why not be excited? Clayton was MAAC POY as a sophomore, held his own against UCONN in the NCAA's, and helped Iona beat Alabama 2 years ago.
Don't know if he'll measure up to Hardy, but not a stretch imo, and why not dream?

Kid is really good, but Hardy comparison would not be in play if kid going to Florida.

I really don't see where else you can go right now. Otherwise, it's going to be a long season in 23-24.

I have confidence that Pitino will coach up whatever players are here, but if they're all walk-on caliber, how many wins will that mean, anyway? Taking a 5 win talent to 8 wins? Not exciting.
Soriano going to be first Point power small shooting center.
