Amen! Pitino tracks pass deflections on defense as a measure of who’s hustling. That’s the level he goes to. St. John’s used to go on a 6-8 point run and Lavin would call a timeout.
What’s great also about the Dunlap signing is that this is a kid who was going to Notre Dame , which is in the Duke , Vanderbilt , BC , Virginia , Villanova of high Ranking Academic schools and chose us .
While I’m sure he’s motivations were pretty much BB related , those are the type Schools this kid would be admitted to . He’s a pretty smart one , on and off the Court .

I told you that CRP was playing a big game of Poker. He wasn't showing his hand and letting the others show theirs. Then he started picking them off one by one. He's a genius.

I would think Pitino adds a bigger PF that can give some minutes at center. I’d be surprised to see him with 3 pure centers on the roster this year.

He told Zags just now he wants to add a backup center. I imagine we get a PF who gets minutes over Slazinski. We'll see.

Exactly what we all wanted to hear.
As he states in the Zags article he wants a big time scoring guard (Dingle) and power forward (Mgbako) and a back up center (Bandaogo???).
He clearly is targeting what he is looking for. I am not saying he lands 1, 2 or 3 but he clearly has a strategy.
It is why Pitino was the biggest recruit of the Spring for SJU.
