So you're blaming anonymous posters on a social media site for your unhappiness? All I can tell you is that you deserve whatever you get.I blame the people on here for suggesting unattainable recruiting possibilities.
For years I would advocate for a mid major coach who would come in and emphasize the 3 and recruit to fit his style. This was always shot down as people clamored for the quick fix.
Well we are basically doing what I always wanted only with Rick Pitino instead of mid major coach. If Rick can get a difference maker every couple years we can be really good. And if he can’t I do believe we will always be in the conversation for the tournament.
I never paid attention to recruiting before and going to stop doing now.
I didn’t come up with those numbers I was responding to a prior post.$10K/$20K pay day ?
I am not sure you appreciate how much N$L money is being paid to these kids this off season.
The UCLA N$L is reported to be paying each of the 13 scholarship players on its mens roster a minimum of $100,000 per year. One ACC team reportedly paid each player a minimum of $60K this past season. One ACC starter last year recently transferred and received $625,000. One UMiami starter this year was reported to have received $800,000 to transfer to Miami, and so on, and so on.
If N$L was only $10K/$20K payouts then Pitino would likely already have a full roster. My understand that Pitino is competing in the N$L sweepstakes with an underfunded account. No angel (a/k/a “Mr. Green”) has yet arrived with a big check.
The N$L payments have spiked this season. Hey, the salaries of D1 coaches have spiked, so don’t begrudge the athletes for taking what is available.
Zach texted:
“Of the visits this week, two names to keep an eye on: Oregon State transfer Glenn Taylor Jr. and four-star HS wing Brady Dunlap.”
I think Luis is probably the better prospect/player but I agree.Either Luis or Oregon State transfer Glenn Taylor would be a fine addition
You may be right, kid defends well too apparentlyI think Luis is probably the better prospect/player but I agree.
I’d probably slightly prefer Luis, but Taylor Jr. Also really good. Dropped 28 on Cal this year and can do a lot of things. Either one is a starting caliber SF for us.You may be right, kid defends well too apparently
Zach B s/w PAC coach who was very high on TaylorI’d probably slightly prefer Luis, but Taylor Jr. Also really good. Dropped 28 on Cal this year and can do a lot of things. Either one is a starting caliber SF for us.
To me Taylor is a fine player but Luis is the better prospect and it's not particularly close. Better defender, much higher upside. Though a Taylor/Dunlap combo would provide Coach the option of playing either a great slasher or great shooter at the 3 depending on matchupI’d probably slightly prefer Luis, but Taylor Jr. Also really good. Dropped 28 on Cal this year and can do a lot of things. Either one is a starting caliber SF for us.
Leave it to you, Larry, to speak truth to power, lolI blame the people on here for suggesting unattainable recruiting possibilities.

Meds manAgree, but wonder why he wasnt in rhat tweet,
Dont want to jinx anything, just part of my worry ritual. Lol.
But yes, Taylor would also be a good piece.
Yeah bought into what people with questionable sources and even more questionable basketball knowledge we’re putting out there. So you're blaming anonymous posters on a social media site for your unhappiness? All I can tell you is that you deserve whatever you get.
Never. My grandkids down in South Florida are already St. John's fans. And they're only 4 and 2. I won't encourage them to just root as front runners.Yeah bought into what people with questionable sources and even more questionable basketball knowledge we’re putting out there.
But yes for last 25 years my college basketball fandom has mostly been one of sadness. I strongly recommend for the 2 or 3 younger posters on here to make your future kids Duke or UConn fans.
I was telling someone yesterday that I am way more high on his Pac-12 11 ppg than I was over Thomasson's MAAC 19 ppg.Zach B s/w PAC coach who was very high on Taylor
What a horrible position.Yeah bought into what people with questionable sources and even more questionable basketball knowledge we’re putting out there.

No my kids inherited Knicks, Mets and ST John’sWhat a horrible position.
Are all of your other rooting interests consistently winning championships, and do you advise the younger generation to go root for someone else?
If not, is this just directed to SJU? It certainly seems as if you would rather come up smelling like roses with your doomsday theories than actually have a winning product on the court.
Your posts go beyond the simple “we should have some better players by now”. They are calling out Pitino for doing a poor job.
My view goes beyond being a Pitino fanboy. At least I can admit that. It is why I am patient and more than willing to wait this out, because we have one of the greatest coaches in the college basketball history. Some may view it as clouded judgment.
Holy smokes. Why even bother to root for SJU if all you are going to say how bad we are and recommend younger folks find someone else to root for?
