As was stated earlier in thread, his dad Dana also in charge of the NY Lightning program.
Will try and see if there is a connection with him also being on Long Island.

I should have. Parents should guide their kids not to make the same mistakes they did.I’m sure that’s something you would do. Yea, teach them to be front runners.
But alas I couldn’t have a Yankee fan or Duke fan in my house so I failed them same as you did.
But Grandparents should spoil their grandkids. You definitely should buy them Duke, UConn or Kansas gear. Otherwise be prepared for them to tell you they like their other Grandpa more

Man you guys love getting personal. I’m not “griping” at Pitino. I think he’s a great coach though not infallible. I’m also not negative. I put my deposit down for my season tickets and I’m excited/cautiously optimistic.
But I’ve seen this rodeo so many times with you guys where you treat new coaches like Gods and then turn on them. I mean suggesting that having no impact recruits in May is part of some master plan? That’s laughable.
The idea that all of a sudden we’re going to start landing a slew of studs for next year strikes me as wishful thinking. Why is this going to happen now when it hasn’t for the past month?

Like yesterday posting that I'm disappointed that there's big commits yet and May is next week.
Still gotta respect the HOF'er, the man knows what he's doing, he's trying to get some big time recruits.

Because this is Rick Pitino, and you never stop trying to get the best players no matter how long it takes.
MacKenzie commits on Saturday and you'll see a domino effect, more elite players will pop.
It just takes one guy for others to follow.
