(POST-GAME) Seton Hall (MSG), Sat. Feb. 23, 8p, FS-1 / Sirius XM
A great, gritty, win without Heron and with Figgy ‘quiet’’ and Simon with foul troubles.
Clark and Ponds and bench came up big.
Keita and Earlngron and Simon and Clark with blocks.
Simon with killer D and heady plays.
We were sloppy at times, typical ebb and flows, but we ‘hunted’ all game and never gave up.
A fabulous win at the Garden!
Nice post Chi why would we give up ? We were ahead the whole game. :)

These last two games at the Garden tell us what SJU can be and why we love SJU basketball. Lots of energy in the building and very good effort. Just loved the passion from the start from the kids especially without Heron. Last few minutes got hairy but still solid.

Xavier in Cincy will not be easy. They are playing much better now. But with Georgetown losing today if you look at it 9-9 believe or not will probably get the 3 seed. SHU has 8 losses, they finish with games against Georgetown, Nova and Marquette. Unless they win all 3 of them they are getting to 9 losses if not more. It's crazy but yeah 9-9 will probably do it...
Would still like to go 2-1 in these last three so we don’t have to worry at all about an NCAA Tournament berth.
Let me be clear I am not suggesting I would be satisfied with 9-9. But do the math, SHU has a brutal last 3 games even with 2 at home. I am not sure they can get to 9-9. And even if there is a 9-9 tie between SJU and either G-town or SHU because of SJU being 3-1 against NOVA and Marquette (since the first tiebreaker is head to head and they split with both G-town and SHU) SJU would own the tiebreaker at 9-9.

also Williams had 3 blocks amazing by a 6'3 guard!

Understood, Fordham.
I think Williams can be a Paris Horne type player. I'm fine with that.
This. Nothing spectacular but just develop into a nice 4 year player...

Real nice win. A true team win. Unbelievable how the bench stepped up. Great job by Ponds and Clark. Not sure what got into Keita tonight, but it would be great to see that type of play continue.

I'm very happy with the win just like everyone else. However not to be Debbie downer, but our horrendous rebounding trend continues. We allowed 17 offensive rebounds and were outrebounded overall 41-27. It's a bad sign for our upcoming 3 games....

I thought William's was gonna Tomahawk slam that ball, that would have brought the house down.
Major props for huge w tonight.

Now you kids gotta BRING IT THURSDAY.
NO MORE BS.

I thought we only gave up 9, and got 8. Must recheck the box score.

At this point it is not going to change you just hope they are able to overcome it like they did tonight.

Sweet, sweet W for so many reasons. Garden rocking with energy. Get to 20. Have a great chance at securing 3rd place. W helped the resume because the Hall's NET is decent. And, above all that, after getting robbed the first game we smacked a program whose fanbase is so preoccupied with SJU that we have permanent real estate in their minds. And their fraud coach. Without Heron.

Did check box score, and did give up 17 offensive rebounds. That's why the game was 2 possessions with 2 minutes to go. Seton Hall was mostly awful, but rebounding edge kept it too close for comfort. Amazing how our guys can play great 5 minutes, and awful the next 5. Just have to hope we are good the last 5 minutes.

Much needed win, Ponds and Clark carrying the load and the 3 freshman chipping in.
Need to go into March on a roll, can't settle for 2-1 to finish the regular season.

Celebrity row in 114 today !!! Thanks to my buddies Panther2 and Knight and Mike coming over to hang at halftime with us !

Yes, 10 - 8 + 2- 1 tough, but achievable for this team...when they play like this.
They are in.
Nice games by Keita, Earlington and Williams!
i was very happy with their play. They have developed. Earlington seems to know what he is doing and is very calm.

Keita made some very big shots. Has nice form.

10 blocks combined, from the three of them. I also thought Trimble did a great job on defense, for the most part.

We obviously do not win without Ponds and Clark returning to form, but these four guys were a big factor, too! I'm sure they bust it in practice everyday, so it's nice to see that get rewarded in a big game.
