I remember being very impressed by this story on Moser's recruiting efforts written just after their final four run. I'm not saying he is best available candidate and I have no problem going with Cluess if that what is decided, but one thing for sure, Moser would be very involved in recruiting and he does his due diligence in that regard. Would obviously take him time to build the high school network of contacts he has in Chicago though which is a negative. WCJF will love the quote that Moser is a good closer!

Good post, NCJ.
I do think Moser is a solid coach. While he was 105-101 over his first 7 years as a HC, he has been winning at a .530 clip at Loyola the past 8 years, plus the 6 years with the great Majerus gives him solid creds.
But you nailed it regarding getting acclimated to the NY Metro scene. It'd take him 2 - 3 years to get that down.
Meanwhile, he may well struggle..
All in, I'm hoping Cragg is simply checking boxes and will opt for Cluess this week.
Unless he thinks he can get the Chicago recruits to come here.
True, i thought of that as well. I prefer Cluess but Moser might work out. I do think he's a solid x&o and defensive-minded coach. and he is a hard worker.
But I'd expect he would have a much steeper climb to achieve success here than even Cluess having to recruit at a higher level would.
NY is a tough scene to 'crash'.
We shall see.
