Pinzon Instagram

You don’t think Pinzon and his advisors spoke to the staff? You think his post came out of the blue? You think it was a shock to Anderson that Pinzon was upset with the knifefight offense Anderson runs
— Anderson’s words not mine. Anderson does not even listen to his staff. Pinzon spoke the truth. God bless him. Cragg has no choice now. He can’t pretend all is well. It’s not.

I'm hoping they all said no thank you because they saw Bobby G and Oliva approaching things the wrong way and didn't like the foreshadowing.

Moser . . . it happens. But Ryan Odom wanting nothing to do with us and then taking less money to go to Utah St. was a terrible look for us.
Neither Moser or Odom are lighting the world afire so win some lose some in that regard.

but I can understand coaches not wanting to come here after when ran out most successful coach in 30 years out of town.

Gotta wonder what’s the appeal of coaching at St. John’s if your admin and fanbase is going to treat you like that. The money is not going to be competitive within league, the facilities are subpar, and when there is press it’s only to report the negative.

We have to acclimate ourselves with the new normal. Over pay for Speedy Claxton and how he doesn’t just use St. John’s as a stepping stone.

Either that our we are in for tired retreads, proven cheaters, unproven assistants, or former players every 5 years.

I agree.

But where was CMA when Curbelo was suspended for a game, not allowed to even be on the bench. With that Curbelo shows up at the game as a fan, crashes CMA's press conference and the posts it on Instagram for the world to see. Curbelo was allowed to play next game.

SMH
Like I said CMA is a clown, hopefully 4 more games and he's gone.

The term “not a D1 player” or “not a big east player” are thrown around way too often. Pinzon is one of our more skilled players on offense. Obviously he lacks foot speed defensively but he belongs at this level or just below it, far from “not a D1 player.”

CMA not a D1 coach? He has been a D1 coach for 20 years. Is he not going to be a D1 coach in the future? Sure. But that’s a silly statement.
Or maybe Pinzon is a D1 player, but at a mid major school.

Pinzon is a division 1 player. He is not a starter in a major conference for sure. He has some fluidity to his offensive game but seems to get hero-y if he’s not the main focus. He doesn’t appear quick enough to guard the 1, 2, or 3 without help so at a high level his ceiling is a system defender. He’ll have a fair few suitors from the ASUN, America East, MAAC, and NEC for sure. We can all have fun and monitor if Pitino recruits him to Iona ☺️

Mike Anderson is for sure a division 1 Coach. I mean look at his Wikipedia. Before St John’s he was 10/17 NCAA trips with an elected 8 and Sweet 16. The game changes, your resources change, and it’s not and St John’s is not an easy place to win as all our coaches since Louie have proven.

Sometimes things just don’t work out.

I love the fact that SJU told me I was a borderline admit while Pinzon's command of English is on par with my middle eastern father who has a 3rd grade education from Iran.
Being able to hit a jump shot raises your SAT score 1,000 points

Another mass exodus under Anderson, few years ago what was it, 4 players?
Memory isn't to sharp but it was something like that, kids don't want to play under cma.

Many kids will probably leave after this year.
The new coach will probably "try to" just get Joel and Storr to stay.

Mike Anderson is assuredly not a clown. He may not be a successful coach at St. John’s but he is not a clown. We had clowns in the past. Jarvis was a clown, Fran was a clown, Mullin probably not a clown but maybe because he was so disinterested he couldn’t even be bother to apply the make-up.

Mike just faced the same harsh reality that Mahoney, Roberts, Clark, and Dunlap faced. It’s not easy winning here.

To me if you let a punk clown you, then you start him the next game, then you're a clown.

The worst Knick coach I have ever seen was Larry Brown. Hall of Fame Coach took one last big pay day then mailed it in.
Not that Anderson was ever John Wooden or even Steve Lavin or anything, but think basically mailed it in here.
