I don't believe any of Jarvis' wins were vacated and he was clearly our best coach from a wins and losses perspective since Louie. It ended badly and he appeared to be a real jerk but based on numbers he was the best. Having said that, I'll remember Lavin a helluva lot more fondly than Jarvis though I'll remember that Jarvis Elite 8 team as one of the best teams ever.

1. Many of Jarvis' wins, if not the most important, were vacated.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- St. John's was placed on two years' probation and will lose one scholarship next season for making improper payments to a former men's basketball player.
The NCAA's committee on infractions on Thursday accepted all of the school's self-imposed penalties, which included a postseason tournament ban in 2004-05, a reduction of one scholarship in 2005-06 and 2006-07, vacating all wins in which former player Abe Keita participated and returning 90 percent of the money it received from the Big East for participating in the 2002 NCAA tournament.

AK played 87 games over 4 years. Of course this came out post Jarvis when Keita was kicked off the team for the Pittsburgh incident and removed from his housing which led him to try and blackmail the school. If Jarvis was

2. Jarvis was lucky enough to inherit the one of the top 5 rosters all time in the modern era of the NCAA (post 1980) for St Johns. He did not sign any players on that first team besides Donald Emmanuel. The next year his only recruit was Heath Orvis. Barkely and Glover committed before Jarvis was hired. And I still say to this day that those teams were ostensibly coached by Ernie Lorch since their Riverside experience had far more to do with their success than any Jarvis influence. Then Marcus Hatten saved him. I will say that he coached pretty good defense but his offense made CMA's look like Woodens. At least CMA doesn't make them weave for the first 15 seconds of the shot clock before continuing with no semblance of system or structure.

No I don't believe any of that. But certainly a terrible look for the program for a player to be acting that way. Another indicator that CMA has lost control.

CMA may have lost control of the team, or more likely is just doing a horrible job, either way I attribute then entire failure of this season to getting Curbelo. At first it was just because he was an overrated player and awful fit for the team and then who appears to have lost control of his faculties, what ever little of them he possessed in the first place, and then passed his unique brand of crazy on to his mentee.

If history is any indication, four to five years from now we'll no doubt reminisce fondly about the CMA years.
This graph kinda feels like us and our seasonal success starting with Norm then each hire after

Yeah, because there is at least a 50% chance we'd be in year two of the Mark Jackson regime after Pitino 'retired' amidst investigation into improper player benefits and a health code violation at il Posto Accanto.

I agree. As far as I can tell, Wusu has carried himself with class and hard work since he stepped on campus. Has his flaws on the court, but I am a fan.
Agree that on the surface, Wusu seems like a throw-back kind of kid; listens to his coaches, gives 100% every second on the court, never embarrasses himself or his team with inappropriate behavior on or off the court, etc etc. Having said all of that, with this team, ya just never know what lurks beneath the surface(not implying that anything lurks with Wusu), because I never would have expected this kind of behavior from Pinzon either.

True. And there were some small disciplinary things with Wusu to this point.

What you believe doesn't matter.

More than 40 games total including an NIT championship. Your welcome.
What does that really mean?
I watched the games, they happened. Unless someone does Clockwork Orange thing to me Elite 8 team was my favorite Johnny team.

Without the Jarvae Norm would never have happened. Jarhead cause Norm. That'd be the same Norm you've been droning on about for 20 years, the same Norm you wake up screaming about during your dreams, the same Norm you'll be mumbling about under your breath as you stumble around in a bathrobe in the old folks home where you'll finally succumb. My fervent wish is that when that happens, Geno's your roommate.

How many guys have slept with a hot woman consequences be damned.
Considering our history that year was worth the Norm consequences.
I will still be quicker than Geno in that scenario btw
Good to have you back
