INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- St. John's was placed on two years' probation and will lose one scholarship next season for making improper payments to a former men's basketball player.
The NCAA's committee on infractions on Thursday accepted all of the school's self-imposed penalties, which included a postseason tournament ban in 2004-05, a reduction of one scholarship in 2005-06 and 2006-07, vacating all wins in which former player Abe Keita participated and returning 90 percent of the money it received from the Big East for participating in the 2002 NCAA tournament.

Pinzon & Curbelo sounds like the name of a law firm. I say they go to law school and start a firm specializing in personal injury.
As I was saying to another well respected poster/friend the other day; the combination of the poor on the court performance, combined with the turmoil off the court, is going to make it very very tough for Cragg and Shanley to rationalize bringing CMA back.
I agree. As far as I can tell, Wusu has carried himself with class and hard work since he stepped on campus. Has his flaws on the court, but I am a fan.
I agree Monte and Otis. Just don’t see how Shanley can justify bringing back CMA Clearly lost control of the team
then you watch the on court performance and wonder what in the world do they do practice. On Saturday it looked like 5 individuals on the court while other teams are passing the ball around

He's obviously not suspended from the team as he is on the bench. He's not being played by coach Anderson because he refuses to play within whatever structure Anderson reputedly uses for the shit show he directs.
Now, we have the Pinzon situation and it's starting to look like the Borinquen Brothers are in revolt. Not a good look in NYC with half million Puerto Ricans.
Just another bad look to put MA behind the eight ball no matter whose fault it is. This is reminding me of our annual tradition of shit BE starts digging a big hole & never getting out of it. Shanley will take action I expect at season’s end. Just too many potholes to rationalize MA’s return. What a disappointing season, but at least we are consistent.
No I don't believe any of that. But certainly a terrible look for the program for a player to be acting that way. Another indicator that CMA has lost control.
