One late night I was bored and looked at a few coaching list the "coaching candidates" list.
I looked at them all:

The 4 that I like the most are Langel (Colgate), Dusty May (FAU), Grant McCasland (N Texas), and Pat Kelsey (Charleston)

I'll be watching those 4 with interest.
Not sure we could get McCasland this far north and east, but he is a hell of a coach.

Agree, don't rush into a hire, do a deep dive into a good number of candidates and at minimum consult with numerous individuals well versed in the college basketball world. And by all means get JR's approval before the actual hiring so he can't complain about the new coach ;) :giggle:;)(y)
I expect every coach I am interested in to be in the tournament, so we can't make a rushed panic hire. But please backchannel the hell out of all of them.

Yes of course. Research should have started a while ago. Every good AD has a list of candidates to take over for all their coaches as you never know what circumstances will necessitate a new hire. Of cost Cragg is spending a lot of time designing a new arena 🤪

Just hope the search isn't a disaster like the last search, they were saying no ty no way am I going to SJU.
I'm hoping they all said no thank you because they saw Bobby G and Oliva approaching things the wrong way and didn't like the foreshadowing.

Moser . . . it happens. But Ryan Odom wanting nothing to do with us and then taking less money to go to Utah St. was a terrible look for us.

Was gonna say even if he approved of the hire he would turn on him after the first loss but was afraid that would be taking it too far :ROFLMAO:

I’m sure if the new coach walked in with a Alabama shirt on, he could go 0-30 in his first year and Bamafan would still be happy as a pig in poo poo. 😎👍

No matter how unfair, every criticism probably contains a.modicum of truth. Pinzon’s mistake is in publicly voicing the obvious, and what many of us have been thinking.

CMA was right to suspend Pinzon. You don’t go on social media to trash your coach the day before a big game. What did Pinzon think that was going to do to the morale of his teammates who are working hard under already difficult circumstamces? He didn’t care. It was a punk move and he needed to be taught a lesson. Anderson may not be a good X and O guy but he got this right.

Pinzon’s act has negative consequences for both CMA and himself.

For CMA, it illustrates that he may have lost control of his team which, if true may cause the StJ’s Board to gag and pay out a buyout.

For Mr. Pinzon, coaches at other schools may now view this 3* high school recruit who has been unable to distinguish himself on the St.John’s roster may lack the discipline and maturity to recruit through the transfer portal thereby preventing from getting the number of transfer opportunities that may have otherwise available to him.

I get your point and also suspect if Pinzon wants out of here, his advisors are already shopping him under radar to schools they have a relationship with.

No doubt that Pinzon wants out of StJ and do doubt he and his friends are attempting to market him but IMO his post does not make him more attractive in the transfer portal. His act shows poor judgment and a level of maturity which many coaches would not welcome as a first alternative.
