Orlando Sanchez

Congrats to Orlando and his family and THANK YOU to Robert Orr!

Gotta tip my cap to the NCAA for finally getting it right

This is unbelievably great news! I don't know how they did it, but they did it! How come no comment from those long time die hard fans, Joe and Miquel? Or do they only post incessantly when things aren't going well?

Great great news. Next year looks to be awesome. This should also give this years team a much needed emotional lift the rest of the way. Let's hope

Plus look at the goodwill, positive publicity and increasing attractiveness of the SJU program! And to the life of Mr. Orlando Sanchez. Good for you Orlando! The dawn has broken (Tony O. etc? sorry about that)

Coach and staff continue to build a solid foundation for every year not just a few year fling. No reason we cannot surpass Gonzaga or at least be the Gonzaga of the East.

all the best.

I've been thinking about this for awhile but I expect more scrutiny on our program and recruits going forward by the NCAA. The staff should definitely stay away from questionable recruits and fully vet the players they're going after. No more kids with academic issues either. The NCAA will undoubtedly want to zing us down the road.

Very true.

I suspect that lavin already had a target on his back before he came here, due to suspicion he was very slick and probably slipped through their fingers multiple times while at UCLA.
He needs to be extra vigilant now for as long as he is a college coach.

Agreed. Great news and yes, maybe we get a second wind here and finish this season strong. Things continue to look up.

Always the skeptic :)

Were they already all over us before?

Slipped thru their fingers?
Um ok.

Due to "suspicion" that he probably did, due to his constant great recruiting sucess and his "slick" image.

Because of his 'slick' hair? haha :)
I just dont get this 'slick' talk coming now all of a sudden.

When it comes to "slickness" I humbly believe that we have a lower "slick-RPI" than Syracuse, UConn, Louisville e.g. we are less "slick" so let the NCAA look elsewhere.
Coach Lavin is not "slick" he is smart = smart enough to take care with recruits.

Did they get banned? I don't think I've noticed Joe3 in the past day or so, which is highly unusual.

I will say this: Joe3 doesn't seem to have any likable qualities at all, but I would never question that he is a fan. I think the other guy is a fraud and a troll, though.

I know a lot of posters were critical of how the Sanchez situation was handled, but the timing was right to make the NCAA look even more ridiculous than it usually is. If we play our final hand too early, the story may get brushed aside and forgotten. Missing 90 percent of the season because of three garbage-time minutes makes them look worse than had we gone to the press after five games.

Orr needs to show up to a game so he can get a standing ovation. And Sanchez's perserverence and desire for an education should be commended.
