Orlando Sanchez

just 2013-14 season right? How much eligibility did he get? Now I'm getting greedy >-)

We were only fighting for 1 yr he had left.
Can't see it being this year at all.

Maybe they "gift" him the rest of this year too, to make up for all the bu11sh!t they've put him through. Nah......

“@STJ_Basketball: TWITTER EXCLUSIVE: @NCAA grants waiver for @Orlandito0933! Orlando Sanchez approved for one season of play, will use it in 2013-14. #stjbb”

Gonna be a treat, Sanchez can really play. IMO, first player we've had since Barkley that makes players around him better. Will bring a much needed level of maturity to the team.

@Orlandito0933: Thank you to St. John's for helping me get cleared, my familia for staying strong, and my teammates for having my back!

On paper now we go from having a very weak frontcourt this year to a very strong one next year. We get Sanchez and GG back, plus Obekpa, Sampson and Jones will be bigger and stronger Sophomores. Next year looks very promising.

awesome. Were adding Gift and Sanchez to Obepka and Sampson. Next year is the year. If not next year then never.

Only question is where will we be next year?

Give me a 10 team league where everybody plays twice a season... a schedule next year that includes Georgetown, Villanova, Marquette, Butler, and Xavier. Throw in two quality non-conference games and next season could be a lot of fun.

Preaaach brother preach

I don't want to forget about the rest of this season, but I'm already thinking about the countdown to next year.

Congrat to Orlando and the coaching/admin staff. Bright days ahead.

And a tip of the hat to them all for conducting themselves with class through a frustrating experience. It must have been tough to remain quiet when some folks were calling them out for their silence or perceived failures, but they clearly kept their focus on the long-term goal and never took the bait.
