Orlando Sanchez

 Per Zags....

St. John’s is targeting the Monroe (N.Y.) College duo of Orlando Sanchez and Marco Bourgault, but neither player is close to a decision.

The 6-foot-8 Sanchez is focusing on St. John’s, Providence and Auburn and plans to visit all three schools, Edgar De La Rosa, the former Manhattan assistant who has a relationship with Sanchez, told SNY.tv Tuesday.

I'm sure Harrison's going to love Bourgault's quote: "They don't have any shooters..."

I don't think Harrison will take it literally. We were last in the conference at shooting the deep ball. Everybody knows Harrison can shoot the deep ball. I'm pretty sure Harrison would love to not be the only deep threat on the team. It would open up better shots for him as well.

absolutely a big factor in the decision to pursue him and Balamoux in my opinion.

Question...how are either Balamoux or Bourgault on the defensive end. are we going to give up more points that we get out of either. I know we need to spread the court and have more threats so Harrison can get more open shots but I would hate to score 8 more only to give up 10 more.

sorry i realize this in sanchez's thread but i am just running with the theme at the moment

If our comp is provo and auburn I am not worried. Who choses auburn? Do they still play basketball.

The list for the French kid is uninspiring. Luckily he is the 12th player on a full roster.

Providence has done a good job. (Cooley) has seen him and has a relationship with him. I guess you could say it’s not that [the Friar coaching staff] has done a better job; they’ve done a longer job. That in mind, I would think PC has the inside edge to get this done.

Certainly could happen. I think providence fans said Sanchez' girlfriend is from Providence as well. That said, I'm not counting Lavin out in this one just yet. He will have both Sanchez and Bourgault on visit. Cooley pressed hard for Jakarr too and many were shocked we landed him. This spring signing is cetsinly an interesting one. We need bigs.

let's not panic just yet. Hopefully now that the ncaa is over things will start moving on the recruiting front.

 Oh no!!!!!
The Pawtucket Times!!!!!
Were doomed!!!!

Lol... No doubt the Pawtucket recruiting guru has his sources...

I don't necessarily think the article means we can't nor won't get Sanchez, but those are quotes from his JUCO coach. If it had been an anonymous source, then I would've figured the source was placating for the paper due to its proximity to Providence.

This was Sanchez's head coach. Maybe, he was placating for the paper or he was relaying what he truly knows about the situation. We're not gonna have much longer to find out, if he's gonna end his recruitment in a couple of weeks.

Marcus, In all fairness, Sanchez's JUCO coach was referenced. If he noted we were in the lead, I think we would be happy. Personally, still think we get him. We'll see.

I was just joking after reading Moose's post.

According to a tweet from ProJo, Sanchez may have some academic issues to resolve in order to be eligible to play next fall at a D-1 school

just a bit more randomness on the recruiting front. I didn't think Wood would outrank Obekpa but that's why I teach and don't evaluate talent I guess.

Those Rivals rankings are from earlier in the year and haven't been touched in awhile.

see..didn't even realize they were old rivals rankings because it was dated for today. I think i shoild just go drink some beer and wait for an update on here

Visiting Auburn this weekend per Twitter.

I always thought Auburn was an odd choice of school in the running.

Calipari coached him on the Dominican national team. Aurburn head coach is Tony Barbee. One of Cal's disciples and best buds. This one scares me a little.
