Orlando Sanchez

I teach my CCD kids about Advent as preparing for the important event of Christmas . Perhaps during Advent we will get a visit from the Wise Men of the NCAA !!!!!!!

If three wise men from the NCAA make their epiphany check your BCA (blood alcohol concentration) before getting behind the wheel.

Btw, who was buried in Grant's tomb?

People answer that wrong all the time, because Mrs. Grant is there too.

No one is buried in Gran'ts tomb. President Grant and his wife Julia are entombed in Grant's tomb but nobody is buried there.

Friends - I went to his alma mater and participated as a volunteer photographer when they restored the tomb - forget the year - maybe in the 1980s. There was talk about moving the Grant family becaue of the graffiti and drugs etc.

He was a great man in many ways - coming from humble beginnings.
And as many likely know, it was Mark Twain who assisted the throat cancer stricken/dying Grant with his memoirs. His last days were at Mount Mc Kinley inside a prison (I forget if its state or federal). I visited the small home with a porch. There is a great photo of Grant, bundled up, sitting there, writing, suffering. Here is his magnificent quotation while he was dying (for thoese how believe he was not intelligent or poetic):

"I do not sleep though sometimes doze a little...If up I am talked to and in my eforts to answer cause pain. The fact is I think I am a verb instead of a personal pronoun. A verb is anything that signifies to be: to do; or to suffer. I signify all three."

By the way he smoked a pipe until he forgot his pipe and was photographed on a horse with a cigar after a key union victory - the nation sent in boxes of cigars so he switched to them from the pipe. He was a hero during and after the war and during his Presidency.

from his well-chosen subordinates Sherman and Sheridan.

all the best

It did not look like Orlando was on the bench today. Not a good sign since the semester just ended yesterday.

Its wasn't a home game so pretty sure he couldnt travel. The 3 who were on the bench are all eligible and cleared to play so its a bit different with them.

So he would even be barred from buying his own subway token and sitting in the stands in street clothes with his own bought ticket? Is he on total lock down or does he just have to wear an ankle bracelet? Cheers to the good old ncaa the bastards!

I'm sure if he did the NCAA would ask for receipts and only delay the decision even more. So better he stay away.

He tried but he couldn't get through the turnstile with a the token.

When does the NCAA finally tell us if he qualifies? April?
This is getting to be ridiculous

My guess is we`ll know in Friday`s games. I doubt they`d do anything in christmas and new years week, and the Villanova game is the 2nd.
So I figure if no Sanchez this Friday then forget him.

You guys should give up...he obviously isn't getting cleared and even if he is there will be 1 game left by the time he does. Either way he won't be a factor for us. Let's concentrate on Branch and getting Lawrence.

Yes think you are right Guess they will let us know after he graduates

@GaryParrishCBS: Whoa. RT @BaxterHolmes: Sources say the NCAA has fired Abigail Grantstein, its lead investigator in the Shabazz Muhammad case.

Wonder if she has anything to do with Orlando because clearly they are dropping the ball when it comes to reviewing cases in an expedited manner.

They fired her because her husband/boyfriend was blabbing about the case on a plane.

Because of WHAT he was blabbing, Moose, not just that he WAS blabbing.

It still baffles me that this story (the delay on NCAA ruling) has not been picked up by any sports writer lately.

It look like the administration is not willing to call in a few favors.

Felipe Lopez is doing some broadcast in spanish. He is orginally a Dominican or of Dominican decent. It might pay to try and involve him.

I don't get it either...I acknowledge that we haven't reached back page yet but would think that one of the BBall writers or bloggers would have picked it up and, at minimum, asked Lavin for details - if not pursue with NCAA.

Last job I had they hired a guy with no drive, no ambition and no ideas. I figured he was after my job.
