Orlando Sanchez

I get the feeling that the NCAA doesn't have the goods on him but wants to punish him in some form. That's why I think we will get the OK after the 1st semester is over. Looking forward to seeing him and Branch on Dec. 21

me too, sigh. Maybe I should walk over to the NCAA building with a FREE SANCHEZ sign...if misinterpretation wasn't such a likely outcome

I don't understand the issue, if eligibility is not the problem only his classification of being either a junior or senior, then he can play this season regardless. right?

i know some of you have asked this before, but if he misses half the season on this issue, then can get play another half of the season next year or the year after that?

douche response? ok. You're assuming eligibility is not the problem. He's not playing because he has not yet been deemed "eligible" to play. What other reason is there.

Originally the term being used was classification, ie jr vs sr, but clearly it is an eligibility issue or else it would likely not have dragged on this long. Remember, the kid didn't start playing college ball until he was 22. What was he doing before then? Hasn't someone posted that he might have played on a semipro team in the DR or something? Might be an Enes Kanter-like situation where he didn't get paid but might have received some impermissible benefits? Who knows at this point?

Guess you have to be a UCLA recruit to get a faster approval

No, just need to have the paperwork and investigation limited to THIS country. :)

JUCO transfer Orlando Sanchez will not participate Thursday as he awaits an eligibility ruling from the NCAA. Texas A&M transfer Jamal Branch is eligible for game participation as early as Dec. 16, 2012. Harvard transfer Max Hooper is eligible for game participation in 2013-14 season. All are eligible to participate in team activities, including practices and intrasquad scrimmages.

After tonight's game I can say when we are hitting on all cylinders we are a very tough team to beat. Have the look of an exciting tourney team. Hearing some accounts that Sanchez is the best player in practice is a scary thought. One that makes me think we can be real contenders in the Big East this year if this situation clears up

Don't understand how the NCAA can justify this long a deliberation. Seems cruel to do to a kid who has limited college shelf life...make a decision...yay or nay...

this is just disrespectful at this point.

they were able to make shabazz at ucla inelegible and then elegible faster than this.
