Orlando Sanchez

Do I have this correct: if Gift is red-shirted and Sanchez is deemed a junior, then we have no scholarships for next season?

If Sanchez is deemed eligible at all, he will likely be declared a senior
If he is deemed ineligible, at age 24, I would think that he will never suit up to play for St John's
 
Does anybody have anything on Orlando? Any info on this guy and his eligibility issues. Any information would be much appreciated thanks.
 
At today's press conference , Lav mentioned him redshirting the season.

Yes, I asked him if he is happy with being red shirted- and he said No- he wants to play.

Depends on how you framed the question and how he answered it.

I honestly would be surprised if he said he wasn't happy actually. And how he didnt mention his desire for a Masters degree or to improve since he's still only played the game for like 5 years. I guess I am a little surprised he would openly just tell someone that he wasn't happy. Saying you want to be out there helping the team is one thing. Being unhappy is another.

All this does is fuel the fire of those ranting about how he shouldnt be red-shirted. I guess we can start the rumors that he can leave after the year and transfer to play a 5th yr at some other school that offers a degree that we don't.

Well i'm not lying he said he wanted to play this season, and ftr I was one of those guys who thought it was a dumb move to red shirt him.

Yes.
They don't want to lose 2 big men in 1 year with not many 2013 options out there.
Plus I think we all can agree that Gift can use some seasoning as he's new to the game.
 
Dang. Logged in, saw 11 new posts in the "SANCHEZ INFO" thread, and foolishly thought there was some info on Sanchez. Oh well....
