NY YANKEES - 2021

"agita nearly all season"

Section 10, that pretty much sums it up for me.

"And the always expected fielding gaffe reared its ugly head on the play in left field by Gallo. For a guy who is touted as a good defender, he certainly looks uncertain on lots of balls."

Delaware, I guess that is why Judge is in Center when Boone puts Gallo, Judge and Stanton together in the outfield.

I wouldn't say agita from my fandom perspective. Without looking at statistical backup, it seems the Yanks were a much "streakier" bunch than what I've seen for the past 25 years+. Also, while certain years the Yanks were ridiculed for beating up the "bad" teams but struggling or being average against the "good", it seems that was a bit different this year.

Otherwise, it's another year where the Yanks are good and in the thick of things with a few games left. Which has been the case since 1993 -- an amazing accomplishment. The offensive-woes, defense and overall streakiness can be frustrating as a fan, but ultimately sitting at 90 games in a position to make the playoffs at the end of September is still a really good and fun thing as fan.

Gallo, Stanton, and Judge all appear to be right fielders, with not much of an ability to play the other two positions.

Judge can play CF competently enough, so maybe a left-to-right outfield setup of Gardner-Judge-Gallo left to right is the way to go, primarily.  Stanton primary DH, but can give one of those guys a blow, if needed.

game 162/159.

Yankees win!

Up two games over Red Sucks and Mariners and 3 over Jays with 4 to play.

Judge really put his stamp on this win on offense and defense. Decent effort by Kluber to keep the game close. Would have liked to have seen Severino come out for another inning. Let's close this out tomorrow night.

Too little, too late. Bats were quiet all night. Not having DJLM and Voit really hurts. Again, questionable moves by Boone with the pitching. Don't see German (after a long layoff) and Abreu as key, late bullpen guys. I would have used German earlier in the game, allowing for Holmes and maybe Loasiga to be used later on when it really counts. Nothing is easy for this team. I guess it's just the way it's going to be. Yanks let all 3 wildcard teams back in tonight.  Looking like Kluber on Tuesday if they even get to Wildcard Tuesday.

What a shit show this afternoon. You could tell from the beginning that Montgomery had close to nothing, and then the team phoned it in. Amazing that after the success on the road, this team is now squarely on the bubble.
