You have to question Boone's decision to remove a dominant Holmes after only 11 pitches and a day off tomorrow. What the hell was he thinking? Decisions like that lose games so many times. Boone, Wade, DJLM, Sanchez and Gallo can thank Ottavino, Dalbec, Joe West and MLB for lack of replay on an obvious strikeout leading to the big at bats by Judge and Stanton. That is clearly a strike out on Judge.

Wild wild game

Yankees dropped the two pop ups. Dalbec drops the pop up then the dropped third strike that couldn’t be looked at. But what about Devers leaving 3rd early. Or whatever Wade was doing at 2nd base when he half slid and looked maybe even safe.

the yanks defense, especially the infield defense has been below average all year.
i think wade was singing - tip toe through the tulips - when he went into second on the first stolen base attempt.
wade's 2nd stolen base attempt shows he is no gardy on the base paths.

Is Judge clutch now?

I stand by my statement about heart when I've made it because until now when faced with adversity, it wasn't shown much IMHO.  As good as this team looked this weekend (with the exception of the two drops last night and Wade's possibly ill-timed and no slide attempt of a steal) we could just as easily lose the next four out six or all six (or win the same way) because it has been that type of season.

So you are saying that you don't think this team has any heart because you can't comfortably predict which games they will win and which they will lose?

I think they've shown great heart this year.  How many times have they lost a game that we all thought would be impossible to come back from?  They really haven't given up at any point.

What's happened is, with a few exceptions, they haven't hit great for most of the year.  Sometimes, when you're not hitting, it looks like you don't care, or don't have any heart.

Just like a basketball team looks much, much better when shots are dropping.

This team has been incredibly inconsistent.
If you crave consistency, might I recommend you switching your alliances to the team across town…

Our history has been consistent, we normally make the playoffs unlike the type of consistency of the other team across town where the opposite is true.

I don't think I implied that at all in my statement and If I did, that was not my intention..  We can get all high and pumped because of what they did to the Red Sox, but this team can just as easily do the reverse this week and coming weekend. They have shown that before.

As for as me standing by my "no heart" previous comment(s) I do so not because of a losing streak but because I have seen this team too often this year laydown after a bad inning or bad game and show no fight at all.   We've seen this team going into the last game of a series with a chance to sweep, only to see them lay and egg.  To actually see that fight after the two dropped balls (I still have not idea what Tyler Wade's, slow down and late pathetic slide on a steal was about) was quite surprising to me and I will gladly take it.  Let's see if it last.

By the way, when I made those statements earlier, I don't recall anyone objecting to it.  Why now?
