Not as bad? Guys, I watch A LOT of college basketball. When was the last time you saw a player throw a punch? And during a moment like that when the other team and fans are trying to honor their player? The only thing that is coming to mind is Cincy vs. Xavier which I think was last year. We don't even have a rivalry with ND like that. It does not reflect well on us at all. If anything it just reflects the shape and frustration of the program.

Absolute agree.

You can't dimish that incident. It was UGLY.

It didnt effect us with any 2013 recruits since apparently we arent in the running for any

Fr Harrington is so busy hiding from the New York magazine reporter and investigators that he didnt watch the game to see the Dom fight

there have been a couple this year but still doesn't make it acceptable (think i remember a real bad one in conference usa this year). It is bad but some people are over-reacting.

I'm sure all the posters calling for Lavs head were calling for louie to be canned and the program leveled after Jason Williams punched a prove player then a fan up in prov in 1988 or so. Some of the posters on these sites are joke, look a 19 yr old kid lost his cool and maybe should have been on the bench. It sucks but we have to deal with it and move on, guess guys would rather have a coach who pulls his pants down in practice or a coach who recruited guys like grady reynolds and let the program run into the ground.

Fran's team had talent and he knew had to maximize their talents.

It's one thing to recruit kids. Another to coach them up or have the assistants who can cover one or both of those ends where you're lacking.

First off, the on court display was brutal. From total lack of an offense, to substitutions, to just complete chaos and lack of understanding on the court.

The "fight" just topped it off.

If I was a recruit or even a prospective student and just looked at what has transpired at SJU over the past few weeks in the news, I'd quickly scratch them off my list.

The school needs a cleansing for lack of a better term.

I don't think Lavs should get fired either but I think it would be in his best interest to find a QUALIFIED second assisstant for his coaching staff. But with no recruits coming in with the exception of Sanchez and Hooper ( who didn't even get any burn at Harvard), unless these kids work hard in their games over the summer, I don't see a heck of allot of improvement.

And by the way, the NIT is not a given. Looks like we need to win at least one more game and where is tat coming from?

I am not sure what was more embarrassing: the play on the court or the fight.

If you watch Pointer every game, you know he is a chippy player. Don't know exactly what transpired, but his play and antics all game point to him as the culprit. And, he's been that way in other games. I like the kid, and think he's improved, but he has to control himself. Was a little dismayed to see his father's reaction (he was pleased by the incident). I don't mind a little mild trash talking, its a part of the game; but you can't let it get out of hand.

The Notre Dame kids and fans can be brutal, but our kids have to learn to control themselves. Obepka, Sampson and a few others did, they all have to.

But, the most concerning thing was the lack of offense and the lack of adjustment. We've seen this before, and they have to be able to figure out how to run an offense. To throw it around the perimeter is not an offense. I know when you have no one who can shoot, it is hard, but they have to develop something, anything. The kid on ND who torched us from the outside is a SHOOTER like we have not had since Chris. Bourgault is not a shooter like that. He continues to disappoint.


Next year will be better, and it can't come soon enough.

Sorry but I thought the ND kid instigated that fight. He took a swipe at Pointer as he passed him and Pointer went after him. I say good for Pointer. It is about time they stop being afraid of the other team. As for shooters, yea we dont have any but I think the only alternative is to put the Frenchman out there and tell him to keep shooting.
