Notre Dame Game

if he was that good, he'd be going direct to the NBA.

Also, Lavin has to take some blame about the Poiner incident. Clearly, its Pointer's fault. But as soon as I saw that he was coming back on the court with the game out of reach, I knew there was trouble. He already had an incident this half, he's emotional player, and the game was getting embarssing. Plus, his family was in the stands. There was NO REASON to have him in the game for the last 3 minutes. Know your personnel Lav.

Why is it ok for Dom to show emotion on the court but not Dlo??

Reality......DLo or no DLo we were not winning these games anyway. Just shocked as to how bad our shooting is. Some of s predicted a 9-9 season at best but 8-10 looks like a reality. Lots of issues with this team. Hope they can e solved.

Sadly, this is what the team looks like without an outside threat (Harrison for the misinformed).

Please stop already. We were a bad team with Harrison and we are a bad one without him.

A bad team does not win 8 Big East games.

At least Marquette won so, they won't come at us as hard. Maybe they only win by 30.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the way that Pointer plays. I'm just saying that you could see that Pointer had lost his cool. Even watching him sitting by the scoring table, he was frustrated. All I'm saying is that I saw something coming as soon as he came back in. I can't be the only one.

Plus, emotion and attitude are two totally different things.

This program Is teetering on the line of all time low

So then you just started rooting for St. John's last year? Lol

Seriously, that was years ago...definitely not now.

Relax, things are not quite that bad.

And some of you are calling for Coach Lavin to be fired?! Yikes.

+1000
Not pretty but people forget quick. Pitt fiasco, grady reynolds, norm years. throwing a punch is not acceptable but everyone needs to relax. he lost his cool. firing lavin would be a low. you want to see us become irrelevant quick.

Dom should be suspended for the rest of the season, have some integrity. This is a clean program and that will not be tolerated, i dont care if he leaves the team.

Well said, Billy. End of discussion! ;-)

Not as bad you guys make it out to be. He showed a little frustration, nothing to be proud of but from I see he was provoked. Sure he should have kept his cool but lay off the "all time low" "Pittsburgh and "Fire Lavin" comments. Jeez...

I am shocked at some of the things that are said on this board. Wow.

Know your personnel? Lavin is supposed to know his player is going to throw a punch? And if Lavin DID know he was going to do something like that, is that the type of player we really want to represent the program? That is embarrassing and what makes it even worse is the ND fans instead of chanting something horrible at us are chanting, "Thank You Seniors!" They looked all class and we looked like complete trash. Can you imagine what our fans would have been chanting if the tables were turned? It's like Abe Keita all over again. Get rid of it before it really gives the program a black eye.

Well said ZanMan
Reminder:
Abe Keita
Pittsburgh strip club
Grady Ryenolds woman swimmer

These are kids may lost their temper on court and showed immaturity. But none of them have caused University any problems off court. Never anything about any of them not doing well in class (like Sotherland)

Tally Ho!

Here come all the armchair expert coaches who played 5th grade CYO hoops.

Maybe some of you can go to a few practices and teach the players properly?

i agree TXRedman...
that was the point i was trying to make.

Yup we sure miss his 7 points per game over the last 8 games and 25% shooting. This disaster stems from a lack of offense, shooters and player development much f which is prob due to the time and Trenton given to one particular team member. Everyone was talking NCAA when we were doing well against the bottom feeders if the league. The difference= the schedule got tougher. But our shooting us horrific. Not ure if it's lousy shooters or an ineffective offense?

Not as bad? Guys, I watch A LOT of college basketball. When was the last time you saw a player throw a punch? And during a moment like that when the other team and fans are trying to honor their player? The only thing that is coming to mind is Cincy vs. Xavier which I think was last year. We don't even have a rivalry with ND like that. It does not reflect well on us at all. If anything it just reflects the shape and frustration of the program.

no doubt the ND fans were classy by that chant. I can only hope the same thing would happen at Carnesecca.

But yes, Lavin should know when his player has lost his cool. If it was a tight game, that's a chance you take to put the player back in the game, but the game was over. The only meaningful thing that could come out of reinserting Dom into the game at that point was bad. Sure, he couldn't have known a punch was coming, but I knew another technical was coming. he should have too.

2 good things out of todays game

It didnt effect us with any 2013 recruits since apparently we arent in the running for any

Fr Harrington is so busy hiding from the New York magazine reporter and investigators that he didnt watch the game to see the Dom fight
