Norvel Pelle

Damn Norvel (his twitter handle, or name) was tweeting incessantly during the overnight about his favorite foods, girlfriends, movies, ice cream, lack of sleep....you name it. Did you know he liked pop corn shrimp? No basketball references, tho. Just mentioned this since over past several weeks many here seemed to attempt to read into his twitter moods.

For those of you who are into analyzing damn norvel's tweets, you must be having a field day today

you wanna clue us in as to what you're talking about

Norvel has a ton of talent, its a shame that he isnt focused on the SJU program. Like other posters stated, there are tons of kids with talent out there, its the one that utilize it that are truly special. I dont want to bash the kid, he is just a 18 guy trying to find his way, just like we all were at one time. As far as his tweets, lets just chalk it up to they are odd. Good luck to Norvel, even though you are a great talent that we could really use on our team, its obviously not a match for you or us at this time. We need not only blue chip players, but good character kids too, like the tough kids we have now. Go Johnnies !!!!

Fixed that for you.

Exactly...that kid could've done what amir did, however he is too busy worrying about the food in a small Pennsylvanian town....

I think he is back west and I'd be pretty surprised if he ever makes it back to Philly.

Is he in school Moose ?

Pretty sure its still considered 'break' right now. I guess we will see after New Years.

Are you saying that he is not a kid of good character? What has he done that has made you question his character? Just curious....

Agree that questioning the kids character is a bit off base. Question his dedication if you want because that's what seems to be missing. Maybe he'd rather be a painter. If so more power to him. Not all 6'10" kids need to play hoops.

whos questioning his character ? i complimented the kid saying that he has a ton of talent and wished him luck. Other posters ripped his tweets....i simply stated to chalk up his tweets to odd. He is clearly not focused on us here at SJU so lets move on from it. Look at my past, im usually pretty positive about these kids out here playing, USUALLY lol. Lets go Johnnies....btw this was a learning year anyway for us, and im really happy the way these guys we have here play. Mo, Gift, D'Angelo, Phil, Dom, and also the addition of Amir. Love the character of this group. Hope they stick together and add some more quality guys to this group.

Norvel almost never talks balling. He'd rather talk sneakers and babes. He would have been great on this team as he fits the mold of being long and quick. I wish him the best!

He's done some quitting and some lying in the past few months. Both of those would make me question anyone's character.

I think he is an immature young man who is interested in having a good time and enjoying the minute rather than being interested in doing things that are going to lead to securing his future. He enjoys living like a young stud a whole lot more than being responsible and doing his studies so that he can help himself. I think he is extremely talented, and I wish him the very best...........I hope for his sake he hangs around some people who will have a positive effect on him....he seems easily swayed by the people he tends to hang with.

I guess I misunderstood when you said you didn't want him you wanted kids with character.

I guess then he is like every other 18 year old out there. Only difference is he has a talent. I would love to see him in a st johns uniform next year, but if he is more comfortable on the west coast then thats fine.

Hi all. long time fan, first time poster. Just a thought, if he has left his present school as some have implied, how is he going to be able to play anywhere?

Welcome aboard John. That is a question many of us have.
At present we are not sure if he is school or out on winter break. I imagine we will find out soon.

He plans on attending college as a partial qualifier, SDSU or UNLV seems likely, he is not going back to Phelps

Pelle is in the past for us. Time for all of us to move on. It's too bad, but time to work on getting players here that are better suited to handle the rigors of being a student athlete at SJU.
