Norvel Pelle

I can't believe some of the stuff that has been said on here. Seriously? Psychoanalyzing a kid you have no personal connections with? Everyone is different. No need to judge people just because they didn't feel comfortable in New York or what not. Some of you guys need to get a grip.

Which relative are you? The sister who lied about him not decommitting?

Just a UNLV fan doing research. You guys seem like the bitter girl in high school that hasn't been with a good lucking guy in ages.

a unlv fan thats not well versed in his research....he loves new york city, it had nothing to do with that. if anything that was one of the bigger selling points when lavin recruited him.

after following this kid on twitter, i went from being very disappointed about him not qualifying to very surprised that anyone of that intelligence level could have been expected to last 2 weeks in community college.

After following a message board about grown men who follow 18-year-olds on twitter, I went from being very disappointed about redmen.comers' maturity level to very surprised that anyone can discern the intelligence level of someone spitting out 140 characters at a time.

But please, insult the kid some more....

He plans on attending college as a partial qualifier, SDSU or UNLV seems likely, he is not going back to Phelps

Thanks a lot Ted. Unfortunate but good to know. Time to move on quickly.

I didn't know that San Diego State had a men's basketball team.
Clearly you do not look at the "Top 25" rankings very often.

Clearly Otis was a little over the top, but I can't recall seeing your team in the top 25 before last season.

He does not represent himself well, to say the least. This can be seen in far less than 140 characters. As for following HSers and others on twitter, that's the way of the world if you want to know what is going on in the recruiting circuits.

Before that was when Tark was breaking out the Master Card.

No problem North, It is definitely disappointing but he just wanted to be close to home from what I have heard.

He liked St Johns, liked his future teammates, loved Lavin, but found NY too different from home.

St Johns fans need to chill out with their feelings of betrayal when it comes to recruiting. We had no issues years ago taking kids like Reggie Carter from Hawaii and Mike Moses from Florida who wanted to come home. These are young kids who want to explore the world then realize they are not ready to do so. I face the same issues with my son who is going to go away from home to play baseball in college, I am not sure how he is going to adapt.

Norvell is a unique talent but we have a staff that will find a comparable player.

All will be good, just remember these are young kids and not some corporate executives who get recruited to another firm.

Obekpa would be a good substitute for us. Need that shotblocking presence in there.

Real good to hear it. With our style of play, we really need a shot blocker like Obekpa cruising the interior. We take a lot of chances in our defenses, and having a mobile swatter like he is would be a real asset. I've heard that he's improving by leaps and bounds all the time, and he can even handle the ball in the open court better than most big guys.

Birth to UNLV. No mention of Norvel Pelle to UNLV talk any longer from Zagsblog

He'll likely be at SDSU if any D1 school. More likely JUCO. Hopefully not just sitting around eating tacos in the LBC.

I would think SDSU unless he finds another school in the LA area that will take a partial qualifier such as CS Northridge or Fullerton.

I don't think he has any plans to go back to prep so a Juco may be possible such as Santa Monica JC
