Norvel Pelle

As the father of a 6'8" son who did not love basketball and who never played competitively (probably ruined by his dad telling him he had to work on his off hand, he wound up as an obstetrician) so far all we know is that a likely possible four year D1 basketball career seems to have gone down the drain for Norvel. He sounds more complex and possibly motivated toward things other than hoops;... it happens.

Very true.

Norvel Pelle, who reportedly is very artistic, reminds me of a 6' 11" kid St John's had in the '80s by the name of Robert Cornegies (sic). His heart just wasn't into hoops. He much preferred the trumpet over basketball.

I hope hes a good artist. Hes not going to medical school. Your son was bright and ambitious. Pelle does not seem ambitious. Dont know much about his intellect, but do know he is not the best student.

dont know much about him being an artist, seems like he enjoys hoops. Its just that small little thing called COLLEGE that interferes with his life. Man, i wish i had all that god gifted talent. Thats why a kid like Amir is so special, he is gifted with two talents and maximizes both of them. Amir is a great role model for kids. Focused on his goals, and gving things your all, complete opposites. my message to Norvel is..." someday you will regret not striking while the iron was hot". his best bet is Jr. college route, hopefully will mature in a year or two.

Frankly, if he is no longer interested in us have no further interest reading about him

More like we are no longer interested in him. Hopefully, he gets himself together, as he has loads of potential. I really was looking forward to watching him swat shots and getting slams on the break for us.

Oh, well!

Interesting piece. Thanks Andrew.

It sounds like he has the makings of an artist.

I wish him well.

Pretty sad that a line like this has to be said-

“He’s still interested in college basketball,”

And as to plans for visits-"We're working on that"-what's the hurry?

He spoke in such positive terms about SJU. What turned him off so much about us?

I saw this a few minutes ago. It's not shocking. Hopefully, he has someone around him to push him.

Good luck to Pelle.

Makes you realize that if he qualified, and we had him and Harkless for a couple of years, what a run this team could have been on already.

His work ethic is beyond questionable.

I could have easily seen him suspended mid-season for poor academics.

Sad case, nice article;
“@ebosshoops: A really good read from @JeffEisenberg on Norvel Pelle.http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab...y-nba-teams-turning-pro-172046878--ncaab.html

Maybe the NBA should not accept High players Perhaps a minimum 2yrs of college You would.see players .hitting the books more but.NBA is not interested in their education.. Also if they accepted a high school player they should be pro active in helping him or her get their Degree But then again if you signed a multi million $ contract what is the incentive

Not tryin to be mean but if if if...if kentucky didn't lose their guys early every year they would beat the Heat (exaggeration but you get my drift).

According to a source, #Sixers personnel believed Norvel Pelle outplayed Mason Plumlee, and Kelly Olynyk at the team workout today.

I seriously hope this kid can find something productive to do with his life. Since he has an agent so playing collegiate ball is out of the question.

@DraftExpress: Norvel Pelle has withdrawn from the NBA Draft due to a foot injury, his agent Gennaro Bizzaro informed us.

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Continuing on @DraftExpress: @NorvelPelle05 will have wart surgery on foot that caused 5 NBA workouts to be canceled.D-League, overseas next
