Norvel Pelle

I seriously hope this kid can find something productive to do with his life. Since he has an agent so playing collegiate ball is out of the question.

@DraftExpress: Norvel Pelle has withdrawn from the NBA Draft due to a foot injury, his agent Gennaro Bizzaro informed us.

His agent's last name is perfect for the occasion.

As I posted on Jungle- The kid does not like to play basketball. He does it for fun. The thought of doing it for a living freaks him out.

I actually think that he likes to play basketball.

What I'm convinced that he doesn't like is putting in the necessary work that whatever he wants to do requires.

He wanted to come to SJU and play ball. Didn't want to physically go to high school though. So he took online courses I assume from the comfort of his bed.

Got a chance to go to Phelps. Didn't want to get on the court for some strange reason.

If he came to SJU or Iona, does anyone think he would've even shown up to classes? He would've been academically ineligible by the Spring semester.

The kid didn't want to go to high school. Did want to go to college. And missed meetings with NBA teams.

I sure hope he pursues his love of Art because those int'l coaches would tear him a new one with his kind of work ethic.

I don't think he'll play professional ball anywhere.

Good kid. Needs a wake up call though (as if this wasn't another one in a long line of 2nd chances for him).

@DraftExpress: Norvel Pelle's agent Gennaro Bizzaro says his client is likely headed for Europe next season. "We have leads in Greece, France and Italy."

Right.

Him and Nuri should try out for the Harlem Globetrotters like Willie Shaw.

At least Shaw was good.

Trust me he really isn't in love with the game. He just happens to be good at and just like his class work he doesn't care much.

Agree with Moose. Totally unmotivated when it comes to both school and bball. Talented kid no doubt. Lavin did due diligence making a run at him and trying to get him on board. He's been a string of failures since then though, and really not due to complex issues. He just doesn't have the work ethic nor see, influence the desire. Too bad for him, becaus he had pro level talent. Add him to a long list of Lenny Cooke's and James Felton's who never get anywhere. I hope for his sake he learns to work and make a few bucks overseas...

I thought the date for withdrawing from the draft was a month or so ago. And he's not going to school, so what is point of withdrawing?

This doesn't make any sense to me either. Unfortunately, this will almost certainly be his last chance with the NBA. Damn man...just keep it together for a few weeks.

Nothing about Pelle surprises me anymore
His entire situation, starting with the initial recruitment at St John's, has been very weird
Many TV soap operas have started with less of a story line than Pelle's

SJU West?

The Philadelphia 76ers D-League affiliate drafted Norvel Pelle, Nurideen Lindsey and Aquille Carr.

Their scouting department must consist of YouTube watchers.

If you are going to tank, may as well do it right and tank from top to bottom so you can't call guys up who may help you win.

He would've thrived at Iona.

Not so much here because we really don't have a system.

That run and gun at Iona was probably the perfect system for him.

By the way he played 18 minutes scoring 5 points on 1 of 3 shooting. 4 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks and 4 fouls

Also to note Nuri was on the team was waived.

If I'm not mistaken, that's onetime SH recruit Aquille Carr dishing the ball to Pelle.
