He should go home. :blink:

This kid is a terrific athlete and I can only imagine what a front line of Pelle, Sampson and Harkless would have looked like but Pelle really looks like someone with serious issues.

If he ends up at San Diego St he may have to get use to travelling back east as apparently since BYU has broken off talks with the Big East San Diego St appears to be next up for entry.

Unbelievable, I mean a Big East Conference with a team from California in it.

Its sickening. Break away already from the football schools. Monasch and the Gtown AD need to step up to the plate.

Dare I say it might be time. I'd still invite schools like Temple and Memphis to play basketball in the league. Those football programs are not coveted and we can still run a lower tier big east football league with top notch bball programs as the marketing focus of the league. Football teams in the league could still include the existing Big East football programs and whatever additions are made.

Staying on topic, and don't ding me on this for not already knowing, but here goes:

Back in August(?) St. John's had three recruits declared ineligible (for this semester(?)),......

What is the status of each one of those three players, if anyone would be so kind?

Thanks.

Ding...had to - lol

Amir - Enrolling for spring semester;
Norvel - Only the shadow knows; apparently, SJ or SDS or Juco;
JaKarr - ask his Brewster coach; hopefully JaKarr follows his heart back here, and doesn't let his coach keep feeding the KU pipeline (imho)

Garrett seems committed to coming and may show up next month.

The other two are questionable in terms of their eligibility and their committment to SJU.
Sampson has been reported to be involved with Pitt among others, and Pelle has been reported to be involved with SDSU, among others.

The staff appears to be continuing to pursue both of them.

The Post article today suggested that Lavin's trip to CT was to recruit Sampson again.

Thanks gentlemen, you can always count on informed responses,

I was hoping the picture was a little rosier and I guess I also thought that Pelle was doing the school work to try to join Garrett for the upcoming semester. Sampson doesn't look too good at all.

Oh well, let's hope the lemons we've been handed here, can be turned into lemonade.

At the end of the game the students chanted "we want pelle!" and granted he was behind our bench and I'm on the other end of the court so I can't say this with 100% certainty, but we didn't get so much as a smile out of him, and he then put his head down in his hands and almost looked annoyed. Couple that with his tweet while at the game about being tired, hungry, annoyed, and I just don't understand what the hell is wrong with this kid. I don't wanna cut my nose to spite my face, I would obviously still love to have him here, but he's really starting to annoy me now and part of me just wants to part ways with this kid.

He is obviously still interested or else why would he go to the game???

There are 6 teams in the Philly area who are constantly playing. If he was just interested in watching college basketball he has plenty of opportunities away from NYC.

I have given up psycho-analyzing this kid and his tweets. For all we know he could be tweeting about something that happened at Phelps. I give up.

But again why would he come 2 hours north to watch a school he was once committed to if he was not still interested and at the same time not think that people at the game would not recognize him either and want to encourage him?

He also tweeted an hour or two later "fake ass niggas man". Don't know who or what that's about, but one can speculate as it was after the game. Its clear this kid obviously is not emotionally nor mentally ready for D1 ball. It's a shame really. The best thing for him would be coming to a place like SJU where people will not only push him but look out for him and help him get focused. He seems a bit to narcissistic to even get that far and is likely destined to head back west and fade away into the background to hang with his buddies.

 Its probably better that he didnt qualify this rear. Gives him an exra year to mature. I will admit he complains a lot with his tweets.

 Starting to sound like that good looking, high maintenance ex-gf (or now ex-wife for some - no offense) we all had at one time or another - just sayin' :pinch:

fwiw, just saw a guy tweet Norvelto ask why he wasn't playing - Norvel said he's still waiting for a doc to clear him - anyone know how bad his injury was/is?
