Pat Kennedy....or Paul Hewitt or Bobby Gonzalez...
Any other ghosts of coaching searches past we should revisit?

Remember when we played Duke every year? As a matter of fact, my wife and I got engaged during the beginning of the second half of a Duke vs SJU game at center court. As a matter of fact, Jay-Z was standing at the edge of the court and congratulated us when we came off the court. Those were the days when we were still a viable bball program.I will still post too
Would schedule Duke, Kansas or Kentucky every year just to shut people up but then would play crappy teams other 10 games just like Mike so really wouldn’t hear anything until BE started
One word, Jarvis. As a non-Catholic who has never gone to a Catholic school I have a question I am hoping someone here can help me out with. Why would Iona hire Pitino, but not St. John's? Is St. John's particularly conservative when it comes to these things? Thanks for the help.
Sure but the facts are he wasn’t fired. They might have dragged their feet and he lost chance at MQ job so he got ahead of it. Absolutely smart move on his part. Regardless of his payout if he was fired. He left Texas before they fired him as the hand writing was on the wall. He made a wise choice.
Paul Hewitt, duh!Pat Kennedy.
I didn't mean move the actual apostrophe's position. The curl should be facing the missing numbers in the date.Actually, that's correct. If he places the apostrophe behind "23" it indicates feet.
For example, 23' indicates "23 feet," whereas '23 is considered shortened for 2023.
Oh! I gotcha, lol!I didn't mean move the actual apostrophe's position. The curl should be facing the missing numbers in the date.
I do wish this was my biggest concern with the program though.
I remember the mere mention of it caused A LOT of fighting on the board the last time it was suggested. Are we at the point yet where we're rooting for the team to tank?

Well around here a 3 game winning streak gets you a 2 year extension...Are we at the point yet where we're rooting for the team to tank?

If Father Shanley knows Providence basketball history then he should know that it was Pitino who took them to their second Final Four. There is nothing to lose at this point if Pitino was interested in the job.
If that is true that's still plenty of time for him to make this a respectable program again where we can go and get a legit coach to replace him. anything less than 5 years I would say pass on rick.10 years? He's be 80+...
Doubtful. 5-6 yr run... perhaps.
Boeheim is 78 and is an anomaly.
I just don't think school will consider Pitino. I dont think is few years at Iona without noise changes school perception.
If not Pitino, My vote might be going down the ladder and taking a chance on a younger guy like Jared Grasso (42).. I think his style matches the fan base.
Can't see Mack in NY. He's a midwest guy. Boynton doesn't excite me much either.
Think he'd rather stay in San Diego thoughI know most on this site would not go for it, but in this NIL and immediate transfer world , if Lavin came back here I think he would do well. He’s better than CMA , he got us to two NCAA tournaments.
I think top 100 recruits come day 1 who wouldn't want to play for a hall of fame coach at msg with the biggest media market and maybe biggest NIL market if not top 3. plus, with the new transfer rules it makes it so much easier to put a tourney team together in year 1.My point was that it will take a few years for Pitino to recruit players and I don’t believe he’ll be around that long to coach them. Hence being a lame duck coach waiting to retire and no recruit willing to commit to that possibility.
