I graduated St.John’s over a decade ago. I had to fulfill 9 credits of theology. I had no problem with it. Also, I am a non practicing Jew.

I’ve been on and off this board for past 20 years. I remember a couple folks saying they didn’t want Seth Greenberg or Bruce Pearl because they were dirty jews. You could look that up. I suggested they give back the Belson’s money. The same folks also do not want Pitino due to an affair that resulted in an abortion. Those same folks also hired an African American coach to deflect that they screwed up the last coaching search. It nothing to do the fact that CMA had a winning record.

This nothing to do about winning basketball games . It’s a wine and cheese party for a few folks that operate a fund that control the program. Will always get the excuse we cannot compete, but for $100 bucks come eat and drink at Garden in R&W club.

I have absolutely no clue as to what you are talking about and I suggest you clarify who these « couple folks « are.
I am a practicing Jew who graduated close to 4 decades ago and have remained close to the program ever since. One of the two professors who wrote letters of recommendation for me to law school was a former priest who I had the greatest of respect for.
If someone on this board had brought up Pearl or Greenberg’s religion as a reason for not hiring them I would be more than aware of same. In addition I have enough friends on this board who are very aware of my being Jewish and would have notified me or one of the other Jewish moderators of same. Now if you want to say that the fact that Pearl, a known cheater who has been reprimanded by the NCAA, as has been Greenberg I believe while at Long Beach State, are both Jewish and their transgressions would be cause for concern with the school , I absolutely accept same. Now if you are saying the fact Pitino had sex with a woman under a table at a restaurant who was not his wife, paid for an abortion for a woman Who was not his wife is reason for concern, I accept same because those transgressions go against the teachings of the Catholic Church.
As for hiring CMA because he is African American after the last screwed up search I just don’t know how to respond to same. I for one was very happy with the hiring and until a few weeks ago still believed he was a good solid hire.
It would be great if you could substantiate and back up some of your wild theories as opposed to just making baseless statements.

I don't care what religion you claim but to inject antisemitism and racism into your accusatory diatribe is revolting.
Yes, back then both those coaches were at various times described as "dirty" for cheating and other issues. Never, ever, were described as dirty jews which is equivalent to calling a black person the N word.
As far as hiring CMA because of his race please be reminded that the previous two candidates were both white as was the last inept coach!
As credentials go, Mike Anderson coached at higher D1 levels and had better credentials than both those coaches IMO!
