New York Mets-2018

Only if you had the actually had the knowledge that the team you traded him to is in your devision.

What do they care? It is just another salary dump. They surrendered years ago when they hired Alderson. I don’t follow pro sports all that closely anymore but they have to be in the mix for worst organization in all of sport.

Could things get any worse? 25 - 4 loss to the Nats. The pitching was pitiful, starting with Matz then Rhames, Peterson, Besold, Smith and finally Reyes. (poor guy had to throw 48 pitches). Wilpons and Alderson should be totally embarrassed.

Guess the Redskins converted a 2 point conversion to get to 25 points. Mets defense must have played pretty well to get 2 safeties. :silly: :woohoo:

Thankfully I stopped watching and lost interest by june or earlier.

Season reminds me if the 1st one at Citi, my last as a season ticket holder. In an era of mid season roster purges I will never again buy season tix and commit through September if teams won't do the same

My solution would be that the final wild card be based on a teams record over the final 81 games. The best record who didnt qualify otherwise gets in.

You guys are making too big of a deal over this game. It's one loss in the standings, no different than losing 2-1. Plus, nice rally in the ninth. And Reyes' outing reminded me of Matt Harvey!

Our rally in the ninth came against a pitcher who thought he shouldn't have been in there as demonstrated by his throwing his glove and starring in his dugout. By now you know kelly was DFA.
Unfortunately we have two pitchers who lead the National League in allowing steals. If the brainy pitching coach and manager would have Syndergarrd stop pausing in his stretch before delivering the pitch and try the slide step it could very well prevent the easy steals.
And as far as Flores goes he reminds me of the dumb plays Murphy use to make. Has to have the worse throwing arm on the Mets and probably the worse defensive player as well. More then likely the reason for his utility status before this season.

The latest deGrom loss brings to mind That Harvey Haddix of the Pittsburgh Pirates once threw a perfect game for 12 innings against the powerhouse Milwaukee Braves and he lost 1-0 in the 13th inning. The next game that Haddix pitched there’s was a promotion that women come to the ballpark with a “run” in there nylons to get runs for Haddix. This was in 1959 before pantyhose when women wore nylons. Maybe the Mets need to do this same kind of promotion for deGrom.

It's no secret both Syndergaard and Matz suck holding men on base. They have allowed 25 thus far leading the majors. Can anyone remember the last time any pitch out has been called from the elite bench?

Great season for DeGrom. Complete game today. He is a pleasure to watch.

He's almost the only reason to watch :) Oh man though I love pitching and you are right he is an absolute joy to watch which gets me angrier at the lack of support he has gotten this year. I get angrier than him at the guys.

I think deGrom is actually pitching better because this team is horrible. Seaver had to do the same, and Carltons best year was on a horrific Phillies team. He just cant allow runs and hope to win so his focus is laser sharp to be tough all game

I’m not a Met fan, but this was hilarious. And yes, there should have been a St. John’s fan there!

Went to citi last night at the last minute, buying Delta Sky tix on stubhub for $20 plus fees (27 I think). Weather was fine and deGrom pitched.

The team did an outstanding job honoring first responders and those who perished on 9/11.

What a tease. Since the beginning of july mets have the best record in nl east 37-30. Getting Noah back, wheeler pitching elite, deGrom being amazing and other starters solid, mets look like a playoff contender if they stay healthy in 2019

Massive tease and I hope whoever is in the front office sees the need for investing in the bullpen. I don't think we will add anyone offensively except for bringing up Alonso who is a beast. The starting rotation is mostly set. Give me some combo of Kimbrel/Miller/Familia and it will show the Mets don't want to waste the best rotation in all of baseball.
