New York Mets-2018

Our old friend Amir Garrett is quietly having an excellent year with the woeful Reds. In 22 games, he's pitched 27 innings allowed 18 hits, struck out 31, has a team high 6 holds and an ERA of 1.67. Good for him!

::angry: Only 3 solid balls hit against Strally in six innings. Only 4 runs scored against the hopeless Marlins in 3 games. Another screw job for deGrom by the bullpen, could Lugo be closer to closing games. Flores has be in the lineup before Guillorme even against righties.

Brutal game wasting an excellent deGrom outing. Not sure what was worse the ending or paying 12.25 for a big apple vanilla ice crream cup

And he started a brawl!

Lol.

:cheer: Really impressed with Gelbs interview with Adrian Gonzalez last night. AGon has so much insight helping Met pitchers as well as young hitters. I certainly see him as an excellent batting coach in the future.
May not be a bad idea to move him up the lineup and change spots with either Conforto or Bruce.

I thought Callaway made a bad decision taking Gsellman out replacing him with Blevins to face lefty swinging Yelich. News break - Blevins is not getting lefties out and Yelich was 4 for 14 against him. Screw lefty against lefty, leave your best reliever in.

Vargas is pitiful has 10 run ERA. Gets 3 run lead and blows it. Won't be long before Lugo is in starting rotation. Once again,Flexen shows what we have back on the farm.

It appears Callaway is a slow learner having Blevins replace Gsellman again today resulting in Shaw's hit. First of all, use your curve against the lefty Shaw, especially since Blevins fast ball reads 88mph.

Been a Met fan since Day 1 but let's face it, with infrequent short interludes the Mets have just been a consistently bad organization. I certainly still root but it is tough. I agree with LaDuca to the point that the Mets (Alderson and co.) basically put all their eggs in the young arms and outside of deGrom and to a lesser extent Syndegaard they have been busts. Every day players? Really no one on the team worth getting excited over. Rosario, has serious potential but he is still a baby with a lot of holes in that swing. Conforto? Potential has to turn into production eventually so also a disappointment. It appears someone or something convinced him to forego that beautiful swing to uppercut for homers, a la David Wright a few years into his career. . Cespedes? Ton of ability but in reality an inconsistent too often injured player. Bullpen, a disaster. No help on the farm. Adds up to same old Mets.

Spot on.[/quote]

Mets typically cheap out. Their big investment was Cespedes. They could have guaranteed a killer 1-3 in the rotation by investing in Arrieta, which would have made them front runners. Instead they invested in a bust.

It's ugly, but it's a very long season. Injuries have taken their toll. It's not over yet.
