New York Mets-2018
Hopefully, “Thor” stops the Sid Fernandez impersonation, he just doesn’t doesn’t trust his stuff, nibble, nibble, nibble; 3-2 on every hitter. He needs a minimum of 20 pitches to get through every inning.
Well shut my mouth, 5 strong by Syndegaard after the first 2. Best he looked all year IMO, good sign.

Sid Fernandez was the greatest 6 inning pitcher ever. After that, it was bp.
Is it time to get rid of Reyes? Why not give Guillarme (sp) a chance. Just shows you how bad our farm system is -thanks Sandy.
Jack, I agree with you about Reyes. However, although Guillorme is an excellent defensive player he is not a great offensive player. If he is on the bench late in games maybe they think his lack of power is not an asset? Also. he has been playing more second base. Maybe the only thing keeping Reyes around is we don't have a back-up SS? I've heard others say Reyes will be gone late in the year when TJ Rivera returns but again besides Rosario who backs up SS? The last thing is would it make sense to have a young Guillorme wasting away on the bench or a 34 year old Reyes? Reyes is barely playing. Either way I would be surprised if Reyes makes July at this rate.

We really needed this weekend. Now lets string some wins together this week. Going on Wednesday. Hopefully we dont puke one up or there better be enough ubers to drive a bunch of my friends home

Minimum 2 of 3 vs fish puts us 5 games over .500 going into Memorial Day weekend, I would of signed up for that at beginning of year (maybe not at 11-1) but I’ll take it
A little Momentum going
Would be nice if we could get some more offense in some of these games. Need to get Bruce and Conforto going. Asdrubal has been great but unless they hit momentum will be short lived.
MJ enjoy the game Wednesday. I seem to remember you are headed out there tomorrow. Should be ok as I think its deGrom's day.

The Mets are such an odd franchise. They can look like the worst team in the MLB for a while and then like possible NL East contenders the next week. I don't think we have the pitching or the young hitting to make the playoffs but I hope I'm wrong. Is it just me, or do players just not last anymore? Our entire pitching staff plus Cespedes just cannot stay healthy to save their lives. We will all look back 10 years from now and say "remember when we had 5 aces in their prime?". Just never works out for the Mets. For the Yankees? Something in the water up there in the BX is just different. The formula just works.

Mike, I don't think the pitching or young hitting is the problem. The HEALTH of this team is the problem. This team is just two seasons removed from a WS appearance and wild card game in 2016. They just have no depth and for whatever reason they just don't stay on the field. Also, there farm system is bereft of any talent to either trade or step in and help. That's a killer. As for the Bronx, they are loaded. However, be careful. They still will need to beat Boston and/or Houston in the playoffs. MLB is loaded with mediocrity. It will all come down to how they perform in a short series.

You are 100% right regarding a backup for shortstop, henceforth Reyes remains on the team.

 Evven thugh we have a four game winning streak we are averaging about 2 runs a game. Going to be difficult for our pitchers to hold down the opposition.

Just give us deGrom or Noah, we'll give you 3 or 4 prospects and boost your farm system :)

Mets honoring vets tonight and I'm hoping that the weather doesn't interfere as my brother-in-laws wife's uncle is one one of the honorees. He is a spry 99 years young.

God bless him. Last year they honored a guy who fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He got a beautiful ovation. I think he was 95 or so and I must say he looked great. He had his kids, grand kids and great grand kids with him. Really cool moment.

Somehow, I don't see that happening. ;)
