Getting fired/resigning after one year w/ Washington Wizards might have been best career move.  Excelled once he got back to college w/ Florida St.

Bama a hell of a team. They can play with anyone in the country. Their only achilles heal is when their shots aren't falling, they tend to get somewhat undisciplined and force things on offense. But they're long, athletic and play good D. And Oates a very good coach. I wouldn't discount them as a potential NC.

Agreed Monte, I think Bama will meet Florida St in the Elite 8 and whoever wins that game will take down Gonzaga in the Final Four. I think Florida St has the edge just because they legitimately go 11 deep and just wear you down.

No doubt FS a very good team Gene, but Bama goes a legit 10 deep and can also wear teams down. Anyhow it would make for a great game.

For those who are interested, here is the unofficial LMF Tournament Scorecard by conference.

It's so nice watching games when you have only a very mild rooting interest.  I'm convinced most St. John's fans always root fearing the worst, which is bad for our health.  Watching a great game and thinking "That was nice", is a lot easier than torturing yourself.

My second rooting interest is Villanova.   I went up to Boston a coupe a years ago with my family to watch their Elite 8 victory.   But I don't live and die with their successes or failiures.

Thanks, but the Big 10 is 6-8 Overall.

You are correct.  This is what happens when i do things before coffee

Jahvon Quinerly really helping talented, well coached Bama. Concur with Monte about Bama potential to win it all. Hard to believe Oats was coaching high school not so long ago before Bobby Hurley hired him at Buffalo

Good thing they put 9 teams in from that powerhouse Big 10.  They're all going to the sweet 16...I mean at least 1 of them made the sweet 16...ridiculous

This local article speculates that the covid bubble will help Oral Roberts. The team won't experience as much media hype and demands for interviews.

I hadn't considered that before. It does make sense. It also means the teams aren't getting the full NCAA Tournament experience this year. They can't go out and have fun or socialize with new friends. But, at least there was a season in the middle of a pandemic.

Take it from someone who experienced up close the magic and mania of being the lowest-seeded team to reach the Sweet 16: Spending this week in the relative isolation of the single-site tournament in Indianapolis will only help Oral Roberts as it prepares to play Arkansas.

So the Big East, with the fewest teams in the tournament, has the second-most teams of any Power 5+1 conference in the Sweet 16 and the second-best tournament winning percentage through 2 rounds.  Of course, nobody can touch the PAC-12, who saw THAT coming??

Sadly the Big East now runs into the buzz saw of the 2 best teams in the field, so we will have to hope for an upset.  My contenders outside of those two were Alabama, Illinois, and Okla State, so 60% of the "LMF Top 5" are still alive.

The disaster that is B1G is overshadowing what a debacle the Big 12 is going through.  They were good in until TX lost since then it's been embarassing.  OK and Tex Tech at least fared well in going for upsets

Absolutely - the Big 12 was fine ... until it wasn't.  They fell straight off a cliff.  And their standard-bearer Kansas got annihilated.  Ugly.

seeing what has happened to the B10, consider if you were a fan of Belmont

here is Dick Vitale's take:BELMONT with 26 W’s should have been part of ⁦marchmadness, but system is stacked against them as no way can they get the Quad 1 W’s in the Ohio Valley . A great great yr should have been rewarded.
Belmont didn't even get an NIT nod
